XB1 going to have the "definitive" versions of EA games now.......that's not saying a lot.
Are you implying that EA is going to pass on a profit-printing machine like the PS4 just because they have a membership plan on the Xbox One and PC? I don't think so - not if sales continue to soar and the PS4 does end up being the no.1 machine this generation. All this means is that some people will choose to pay extra for exclusive early releases, DLC and access to the "EA game vault", and I'm perfectly fine passing on that since most of those games will end up on Plus anyways, if they already hadn't.

You probably didn't get the employee memo yet then.... I'll bet it says something along the lines of "EA aren't gonna give us anymore games for Plus now"
Nowt wrong with your bosses bad-mouthing the competition like they did at last years e3, but openly doing the same with one of your biggest 3rd party supporters? The plug certainly won't be pulled, but let's just say it probably didn't go down too well with them....;)

Amazing... You can almost hear the crinkling of the tin foil hat.

Sony decided to pass on EA Access...

I'm surprised there's not a shit storm brewing about this. Microsoft had to learn it's lesson the hard way, sounds like it's Sony's turn.

...profit-printing machine..

Wait, these still exist without an Apple logo? I thought the DS (and maybe the Wii) was the last of 'em.

I still like the whole "my bosses" shtick, keep it up. :rofl2:

Come on mon, you know I'm jesting, surely.....:P

I do hope EA aren't too rattled about Sony's comments, which I'm still a little surprised at: to say EA Access isn't good value is clearly wrong - as this subscriptions thing could spiral out of hand: good value or not, we could then see Activision, Ubisoft etc join in. Subscribing to one publisher, however good the offer is, is a bit crazy....
(And besides, Sony, most fans of the free EA games will want to play those online, so, er, they still need Plus.....)

I'm a huge fan of Plus, and Games with Gold is certainly improving too (I've got both), perhaps some agreement with both Sony & MS, where this could be tacked on to Plus & Gold, would be better: you don't pay for Netflix, Amazon AND Sky Movies (using the UK as an example) as they're largely similar, and this is the direction that should be taken for games.....

If they have at least two brain cells that sometimes rub against each other, resulting in a coherent thought, they'll put stuff on EA Access early as advertised and then distribute it across other services. They have no reason not to support the currently leading platform if they intend to make money.

Sony's turn for what? They made a good decision, PS+ already (and will continue) to get various games published by EA on their "free" games list, and even if they didn't it's not like it'd be a big loss since, y'know, there are hundreds of other publishers who do better work than EA.

Why should Sony limit what you can or cannot play? What if the EA releases closer match the games you play. Is another choice ever a bad thing?

The sad thing is that this probably has nothing to do with what is good for the Playstation market and more to do with politics (See E3 and EA's XBox exclusives.)
Basically, as a Playstation user, you're a pawn in their game.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
