Does anyone know the proccess to convert a dvd9 ps2 game into a dvd5?

God Of War? The only way to convert a DVD9 to a DVD5 for a PS2 game is to go through the code and remove stuff that isn't essential like movie clips or sound and it's a tedious process that I don't fully understand.

You'll need to downsample the movie clips and/or audio data.

believe me, it's a waste of time doing it.
Just go buy the original game. For god of war, just buy the game, last time i saw, it was like about 20-30 bucks. It's cheap now.

Go to afterdawn.com & search "ps2 dvd9", you'll find some handy guides.
Hopefully your IQ is a few points up from mine.

Once you get fed up with all that, Google "PS2 Independence Exploit", and life will begin to get much simpler.

You could always get a harddrive for the ps2, install HD loader on your memory card. Now you can put the dvd9 version of gods of war fully on the harddrive. I think you need to put it on the pc first and ftp it to the ps2. You only need to do this with dvd r9 games dvd r5 games will install on the ps2.

and Xenosaga 1 is listed as compatible with (patched) hdloader.
Seriously once I got my hard drive in, I became a fundamentally happier camper!

The 0.8b patch allows for DVD9 games to be installed through HDloader.

That's what you need man. Kalisto have ripped it for their anniversary, first PS2 game that's been ripped from DVD-9 to DVD-5.
