I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong spot. A friend offered me $120 CA (as I live in Canada) for my DSi. If I were to sell it to him, I'd want to get a DSi XL, but I have a few questions about it first. 1. Does it require different firmware for flash carts then the reg. DSi? and 2. Does the bigger screen make games noticeably more blurry than the smaller screens? 3. Are there any other benefits to getting the DSi XL other than larger screen and longer battery life? and finally, has anybody really had any issues with portability; does one lug it around because of its size or is it just as portable as the DSi in your opinions? Oh, and one more: Does anybody actually regret getting it?

Thanks for your time.

1. No...if your DSi is currently 1.3......then your flashcard needs to be updated to work with 1.4 (on the DSi XL)
2. No. I LOVE the bigger screen. Not blurry, maybe just a bit pixelated, but I don't notice anything after a few mins.
3. Not really. You get some free games.
4. I went from a DSL to DSi XL....seems HUGE to me.....not nearly as portable. You can't really put it in your back pocket.

I love my DSi but had to go for the larger screens of the DSi XL.
It is great, the graphics are good (not distorted or pixelated at all) because it is the same resolution as the DSi.
(Larger screen size doesn't necessarily mean a greater number pixels.)
The audio is louder and appears to be of higher quality than my DSi.
Onlly downside is that it is a little awkward to carry around due to the larger size and the current lack of transport cases available for it.
It is also heavier than the DSi primarily because of a larger battery to power the larger screens for a longer time than the DSi.
That is a good trade-off as far as I am concerned. When used as a talking book or for music it will take several days (16 - 22 hrs playtime approx. depending on volume level)
The larger touch screen gives you more room to play and feels more precise than my standard DSi. The included nylon tipped stylus feels slicker when used with a screen saver.
One disappointment was the larger pen-like stylus. I thought it would be a big plus but in practice not having a convenient place to store it with the unit plus the fact that I am used to the standard stylus offset any advantage of it for me.
I do not know anyone who has actually purchased one to not be thrilled with it.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
BakerMan @ BakerMan: would you rather have unlimited bacon but no games, or games, unlimited games, but no more games?
