I personally think so, once they find all the ways you can exploit the system its bye bye softmod

Lu64+ was only the first step IMO

who cares mine works fine lol

seriously i don't think they'll ever be able to patch every vulnerability.

You better hope that yours keeps working fine and doesn't break and then you have to buy a LU99 Wii that checks your PC for soft mod files and deletes them.

I think nintendo is slick as heck do you realise how much the home brew stuff has saved them on r&d millions just have the modders see what they can do with the wii next update usb external so no I think they lreave a little room for home brew its only good business for them

Or buy a second hand one which im sure there is millions by now!

I think the wii is going to be pretty safe for playing homebrew/backups by either mod chip of softmod for the rest of the wii's like span

I wasnt going to leave a post but then I read you're screen name "Magic Drum Sticks" yum..!!

Anyway there is "NEVER" going be a Hack proof system theres always a way t o hack em', if it reads data, saves data and or updates it will be hackabule...

DEagleson,
The PS3 has a simpule USB hack to run backups and it works on all PS3 systems to date, I' 80% sure..

It seems that these new/ updated systems get hacked quicker and quicker these days...
I just wish Dark-Alex would get the PSP 3000 figgered out already...PSP 3000 still unhackable.

If they could stop all this fun stuff they would...

I see PS3 game torrents everywhere so there has to be a safe way to play them....Right???
they can dump em but that's it.. it's for the future (emulators or some other hack)
So theoretically we don't even know if those dumps are any good

I think personally that we only have a short period of time left to worry about upgrades from N. It will not be much longer before all of their focus shifts to their new system. At that time the wii will only get critical updates. The budget used for writing ridiculous security updates to counter homebrew will probably turn into R&D to prevent homebrew on the next system.

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
