Hacking Diffrence between Wood kernel offical and the one here?

I have tried searching, but haven't found anything. Could me my fault, but I really coulden't find anything about this.
So I ordered a R4i 3ds gold plus and am waiting on that. (Shipping takes forever :rolleyes:)
However I noticed the last Wood kernel on the R4i site is 1.64 and was released in 2013.
I also noticed when looking around on here there is a newer version which was released in 2018.

What are the differences between them? I assume that after knowing the differences I can make a proper decision on which one to use.
