Some guy is selling a 3ds demo motherboard on ebay. If I got this could I homebrew it and get cfw on my new nintendo 3ds?
you cant install a batterypack on a demo unit

even if it would be compatible with a retail housing (i dont think it works)[/QUOTE
? Do you mean it wont be compatible with homebrew?
yes it fits but you cant use a batterypack with that

why do you want a demo MB?
The firmware is probably low enough, there are pins for a battery slot. Id try it to dump the nand.
I updated a 6.x 3ds with decrypt9 browser, so you should be fine.Yes its 6.6 if I am sure. Don't I need to cart update to 9.2?

Oh wait, I used decrypt9 to downgrade 2.1 and install a9lh, went to 11.1 directly, then dg to 9.2.Huh?

How Would I do this?
That's for an o3DS. It won't fit in your n3DS shell.
Looks fine to me

Also, there is absolutely no way to use it on battery power. Demo units are hardwired to shut off when the charger is unplugged.
Otherwise, I believe demo units are the same as regular units.
It's not worth it.
I suppose if it's really cheap it might be worth it just to use it to DSiWare downgrade your n3DS.I had a o3ds shell from my old 3ds and I it's a lot cheaper than hard modding.

YOu should do a straight dg to 2.1 to install a9lh. Then you can update to the latest version. It was like 22 bucks with free shipping so it didn't think it was that bad . If its at 6.6 how would I get it 9.2? Is the best option to cart update or should I do something else?
