If you were expecting the developers of Far Cry and Crysis to follow in the footsteps of their console/PC contemporaries when breaking into the mobile scene, you might be in for a bit of a disappointment. Crytek's new game for iOS and Android devices isn't a mature adventure or even a trimmed-down shooter of any sort; rather, it's a puzzle game entitled "Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll."

"The way that people play games on mobile devices is a real blessing," Cevat Yerli, CEO & President of Crytek said in a recent press release. "This allows us to get back to our roots, experiment and focus our energy on creating great gameplay experiences while still keeping Crytek’s high production values.”

In a plot curiously similar to the original Pikmin game, an E.T. named Fibble (not to be confused with Star Trek's tribbles) crash lands on Earth and will require the aid of "Minis" with a variety of special abilities in order to help make his way back home. Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll is due out sometime in Spring 2012.

Interesting. Very interesting. If they could just generate some kind of new form of gaming on the mobiles (or at least make the ones now available work even half as well as Angry Birds (smooth, no lag, etc)). Go Crytek I guess? :P

Here's a friendly suggestion; why not take all your resources devoted to making this game and divert them to (along with the rest of the money needed to handle production costs) Free Radical/Crytek UK so we can get a new Timesplitters sometime in my lifetime? Please?

Unless you're making this game to fund that project, of course. In that case, by all means Fibble away.
