I wouldn't say it's impossible, it'd just take someone with enough drive and time to do it, but I don't think it's very likely due to it being very niche. You'd have to find someone in that niche with the drive, patience, and coding skill.

It's like asking "Can we have CSS on the 3DS?"

Of course it's possible but it's simply not worth the time a programmer would have to put into...

What for? Also the microphone in the 3ds is trash, no idea why you would want it to record sound.
No, the camera is trash. The mic is alright in a sense.

@ OP: Why would you want this to be a thing...? It would be very glitchy and buggy. Requires too much RAM.

Sunshell exists. It's still definitely a WIP but Rin seems to consistently work on it.
Moonshell 2 had a lot of polish though and it worked really well (Moonshell 1 too), I hope Rin can make it as good as or better than Moonshell

Think of it like this.

Any developer who is skilled enough to do it could be and would be spending there time on something that couldn't easily be
done on just about any common OS out there.

I don't really know its current state. I took a look at it a while back, but not since. I can't really think of a reason to use it. The 3DS's built in music player is decent, just limited to two audio formats, and the 3DS's GUI is fine. A video player might be nice, but I think I'd rather just put together a standalone video player with his sourcecode, if I ever have the interest.

I would say yes to this. But it will probably never happen. Not enough developers in the 3ds scene. I haven't seen anyone interested in making any music tools whatsoever.

As someone said earlier: we have 2 Korg synthesisers and the other music tool.
