Hello!
I recently have updated all the mods I had on my Switch, from CFW to sigpatches, which is now running on the latest Atmosphere release and downloaded firmware 15.0.1 on it through Daybreak. I previously used a 64 GB exFAT microSD on it, but have recently acquired a 128 GB microSD which I formatted to FAT32 with 32k cluster using guiformat as I've seen many users recommend it over exFAT. I made sure every file from the previous card got transferred over properly to the new card, didn't run through any issues during the process.
After I inserted the new card in the Switch everything ran smoothly, until I get past the lock screen. After doing so I get a pop up saying that corrupted data has been detected on the card and it prompts me to delete all the data on it. I'd like to mention this happens after a few seconds without attempting to open any game, but I'm able to bypass this by pressing the home button. When I go to the data management settings the Switch acts like no microSD has been inserted. I never encountered this issue with my old SD card.
I have tried to research it but unfortunately couldn't find this issue anywhere else besides this reddit post that describes my same issue (www.reddit.com/r/SwitchPirates/comments/uu8z59/cfw_says_corrupted_data_detected_on_micro_sd_at/ ).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tested the card with a program like H2Testw?
Maybe you had the misfortune to get a fake SD card.
They are so well forged that you can't see the difference between a genuine and fake card.

Hello,
I tried H2Testw. I formatted the SD card prior running the test multiple times just to make sure since it wouldn't let me verify all of it otherwise, however I got an error offset 0x27f00000 pop up 30 minutes in. I suppose the card was just faulty after all. Thanks for the answer either way, it was really helpful.
Small edit: after the test I decided to verify the data it was able to write anyway and I got a bunch of pretty bad errors, so that sadly confirms my suspicion. Guess I will just have to get a new card.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
