Here Fox888 has reported Swords and Soldiers is not working (black screen just after the logo and the white square).
However it works for me with v3beta6.
Can anybody else check this game?
Here is his log file

Mighty Channels is great.

In order to clean my disk, i've tried beta 5 mod with the path of the nand option.

I've tried a lot of cIOS beta, a lot of arg in meta.xml and i can't manage to get it work.

It boots, choose the device i'v specified in the meta.xml and always have the same error : I can't get title list -1

My USB drive is FAT32, one partition primary and active.

Dave--

In my brief test this morning there was no joy. Also, no log file got created, which was odd. However, I was using MC beta 5, not the modified version. How critically important is using the modified version of MC beta 5 in testing these later releases of v21?

Guys, what are you gonna do if a new game comes out that uses a completly new IOS and does not work with ANY current cIOS? Waninkoko and Hermes left the scene. There is noone left that could and would develop a new cIOS.

The only possibility to run a backup of this game without a hardmod is using sneek.

Except sneek can't load IOS 58 (it loads 56 instead) which is the only "new" IOS that has appeared in ages, so that theory is on very shaky ground.

Then you will have alot of people learning how to use sneek. I'm currently looking into this as im having problems with WW tites and TriiForce, Mighty Channels but only loading from SD card. I'm doing this for someone else as i have everything on USB.

When did Waninkoko leave the scene exactly?

I know that the wii is less of a priority for him as he has spent more time developing for the PS3, but I haven't read anything where he explicitly stated that he is done with the wii.

It was only 2 months ago that he released rev21, so until I see some concrete info then I think that he is still active.

@WiiBricker
On topic please, I want only read about real issues here. No useless speculation.
If you want to do it then open your own thread.
Thanks.

@Hugh Verdam
MC beta5 and MC beta5MOD are almost identical.
Only difference is the official beta5 can't set the desired partition and nand path.
And just "no joy" is not useful for trying to help you.
Report the error message or whatever.
Also write down your configuration (HDD, SD, how many partitions, etcetera) and past your file meta.xml

@L4D
Plese post the log file for Zelda Majora's Mask

Well long time ago he wrote a "Goodbye Wii"blog entry at his site and till then he barely was active in the Wii scene. Seeing his cIOS become more an more buggy, I cannot believe, that he will ever develop something again for the Wii. Thats why users have to fix his cIOS themselfes
smileipb2.png
But fixing is anything the community can do. Building a new cIOS is out of question.

Thanks Dave - you rock! A quick test of v2 shows no problems with 249-56. Also, it may be spurious but even GH6 with the wifi on didn't stutter at all as it did with v1 & Wanins original 249v21 (as reported by netspy).
yaywii.gif

I found the time to test GH6 with 249[56]v21d2x v2, and the lags specific to GH6 are still there.
I don't use wifi but the official USB LAN Adapter, I don't know if matters.

Please can you try through a wireless connection?
I need to know if the problem comes through usb only

If you don't understand what we're talking about, here is what we wrote in the old topic :
netspy said:
If you look carefully at this video (gh6_lag.mpg), the picture seems to be shortly freezing at 0'10 (focus on the grey background, it's easier to see it this way).
No matter the version of cIOSX rev21 you are using, here is the fix :
QUOTE(sock99 @ Jan 29 2011, 05:42 PM) when I came to GH6 & played Burn it stuttered every 30 secs or so. However, I unplugged my Wi-fi & restarted the Wii and played the same track with no problems. So can you try with disconnecting your wi-fi & see if it's any better?

Some explanations first :
- I've used 3 differents USB hubs : an USB 1.1 hub (noname), an USB 2.0 hub (provided with the "We Sing: 2 microphones" pack), and the Rock Band 3 Keyboard dongle, that is also an USB 1.1 hub.
- I've done my tests using d2x-v2, IOS56 base.
- HDD was always plugged on USB0.

Connected using LAN Adpter
  • USB1 : USB 1.1 HUB --> 2x logitech USB mic + Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle + USB LAN Adapter
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : USB Lan Adapter
    -> No lag

Connected using Wi-Fi

  • USB1 : Nothing
    -> No lag
  • USB1 : USB Lan Adapter
    -> No lag
  • USB1 : USB 1.1 HUB --> 2x logitech USB mic + Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle + USB LAN Adapter
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : USB 1.1 HUB --> 2x logitech USB mic + Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : USB 1.1 HUB --> 2x logitech USB mic
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle
    -> No lag
  • USB1 : Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle --> 1x Logitech USB mic
    -> No lag
  • USB1 : Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle --> 1x Logitech USB mic + USB LAN Adapter
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle --> 2x Logitech USB mic
    -> Random lag
  • USB1 : USB 2.0 HUB --> 2x logitech USB mic + Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle + USB LAN Adapter
    -> Random lag

Ok, so, what can we conclude from that? I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the random lag problem occurs not because of the LAN Adapter, but when too many devices are plugged on the USB1 port using an USB hub.
It took me hours to do these tests, so if someone could confirm that's a correct explanation, I'll be more than happy.
What I find quite surprising is that there is no lag at all, when using the retail GH:WoR disc from disc channel. So it's not a matter of USB power that the wii can deliver.

Hate to bump my posts, but it seems this one get lost at the bottom of page 16 -> nobody has an idea of what is happening ?

BTW, I found another problem existing in Waninkoko's cIOSX and not in Hermes one (base 57).
When you load the karaoke game U-Sing 2 (any language), everything's fine until you choose a song and begin to sing. Then, the game begins to lag randomly (but very often, it's very easy to reproduce).

@netspy Just to confirm that I still get the stutters on GH6 if the Wifi is connected but no problem if it's not connected. No problem in either case with Hermes 223(37) v5
