So I think I've made an error by not having the Homebrew Launcher Channel installed onto my sysNAND. Because I already had Haxchi up and running, and decided I wanted to have CBHC installed with autobotting Mocha CFW.

All of that works wonderfully, except now I cant install the Homebrew Launcher Channel form WUP Installer.

I obtained what I believe to be the proper "fw.img" to be placed onto the root of the sd card. When my autoboot kicks on, I hit HOME so that it stops the autoboot, and I select the option to load the fw.img located on the root of the sd card. When I do this, I get the white Wii U Menu splashscreen, and nothing happens. So then my next move, was to reboot the wiiU, stop the autoboot sequence once again, then I loaded the homebrew launcher.elf, then I tried running the app that loads the fw.img from the root of my sd card. I then get the same thing happening as I mentioned.

Am I trapped now, with not having the ability to install the Homebrew Launcher Channel onto my sysNAND?

Thanks for reading. :-)

EDIT - Well I was able to load the fw.img, and ISOUHAX splashscreen shows up. I then try to use wup installer, I select the folder, it goes to the wiiu menu splashscreen, only this time it kicks to a black screen, and does a long error sfx for 5 seconds straight and freezes. ??

Ok I figured it out. It seems all I needed to do was boot the homebrew channel straight from CBHC. I then went to my WUP installer, and it installed the channel.

the REAL reason it didnt work is because you used mocha for system menu boot which we pointed out a million times already you should not do and just use the boot system menu option in cbhc itself which also does all the patching you would want to typically have.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
