Hardware "Cannot start the system storage was not found."

I got this error after changing out hdds the one I am replacing is brand new.

Any ideas why I am getting this error? I cannot boot into safe mode.

Is the new HDD plugged in correctly? Have you tried it with another system to ensure that it works?

Yeah It's in the hdd bracket, and yeah it works in my laptop fine.

And does the system work fine when you plug the old HDD back in?

The old hdd is dead. Already plugged it in my esata port on my pc and it has reallocated sectors count.

Been a while since I've done any PS3 HDD swapping, but assuming the new drive's working fine and the PS3 doesn't have trouble recognizing it, I don't know that there's anything you can do until you can get into safe mode to install the system software. What's happening when you try and boot into safe mode?

I can't get into safe mode it just brings up the same message in error.

Format the drive to NTFS on a pc first, than put it in your PS3.

I thought it was the other way around (fat32)

It will convert it for you to fat32, trust me, format it to NTFS. I've downgraded / jailbroken over 2k consoles.
