Gaming Can I safely use a backup Mario Kart Wii (USA) or will it brick my mod

I have a modded Wii (OpenWii, I think) and I'm worried about the update that gets installed on the Mario Kart (USA) disc. (eg. it says something about breaking your Wii if you have unauthorized software, etc).

Am I safe to install the update and the Mario Kart Channel on my modded Wii?

I've played it several times today and no issue. I even had to kick off a new System Update as a result of changing my WiFi settings and no issues.

I played the Pal version until it was released in the US no problems at all.

Myself and several other guys @ work are running the NTSC version of Mario Kart Wii on different mod chips; no issues. It works.
