I am currently using wiimednafen for TurboGrapx 16/PC Engine emulation but its pretty plain and boring. Are there any better emulators/mods/forks that work good and show covers?

You wanted a Turbografx 16 emu that was better. I gave you a link to one that had better compatibility as well suport for covers though wiiflow.
WiiEngine and i think Hugo dont support covers

Thats the ONLY emulator that WORKS WELL. All the others DO NOT have support for said covers.
If you looked at my link you can add covers for it with wiiflow
I know all that, I thought there would be a version by now that supported covers not via wiiflow

There you go, now after a few days of modding the emu, you should be able to make your own cover support to wiimednafen

It was a great idea for their judgement day to be 1999 Y2K.
