I recently configured PriiLoader to boot into USBLoaderGX. Unfortunately, as I have come to learn, booting into anything but official software breaks the audio due to misconfigured DSP settings or something along those lines.
Specifically, the audio is really really loud. So loud that it apparently goes off the charts in a literal sense and ruins the sound in a way that I can't fix simply by turning down the volume. It's described here along with the fix.
—Okay, I can't post links, apparently. It's titled "Very bad squeaky sound quality across entire Wii" and the end of the web address is "threads/very-bad-squeaky-sound-quality-across-entire-wii.308224/"
So, naturally, I return the settings as they were previously so it launches into the native System Menu again. But the audio problem remains! Did I permanently botch it by launching directly into homebrew just one time? (Well, a dozen-ish times.) I've tried a couple variations on the PriiLoader settings but it just doesn't work now. I did, however, get Genesis Plus GX working somehow. (Oh, and I have a workaround with WiiMC where I turn the volume down as low as it'll go. That's not always an option, though.)
Seems like there ought to be an actual fix for this by now so I can launch into USBLoaderGX (or some other launcher) and have correctly initialized/deinitialized audio. If nothing else, is it possible for me to take the audio code out of USBLoaderGX so that the games will initialize it on their own? Though, I suppose that could break the audio in emulators...
