Until somebody else fills the vacuum and starts releasing their own updates. What, you think Ashley's the only one willing or able to do such a thing? Good heavens, I know people who are still writing software for their Atari 800XL machines! The DSTT and R4 are decent products, and support for good products never completely dies away if the old Atari home computers can be held as any kind of example.

I would try to develop firmwares for the DSTT if I had the tools, I don't quite know what is needed to write software for the DS. But I have a fair understanding of a variety of programming languages. Never really got into programming though, I made a few applications though.

This threads kinda getting a bit hypocritical with statements that the official NDSTT team have STOLEN this HACKED kernel file and used it as their own when the 'hackers' have technically reverse engineering the NDSTT teams kernel code and claiming it as 'their' kernel! ...when in fact all they have done is hex edited/updated it to make a few more games work ..Just the same as people have done with the original R4 kernel for these clone cards and for that matter the NDSTT clones!

Who cares who does what really as long as someone updates it legally or illegally!? ...... At the end of the day regardless of ANY passwords on these update files etc etc the cycle will continue .. a hacked update will be released it will be spread across the internet freely and without a password ..then the NDSTT team will just pick it up again and put it on their site adding in the fake killer code on the way!

A sensible thing here would be to watermark the code with ASCII text by whomever is doing the hacked updates ...but then again whats the point when the NDSTT team can just remove it or replace it!

/RANT OFF

This thread should be locked really unless updates are added otherwise its another pointless thread of people asking WHERE THE HELL IS THE UPDATE FILE!?!

Right, we have success.

I guess if biggman can do it, you guys can. But seeing the apparent trouble associated with it... I think I have passed under the radar =]

EDIT: btw roman, use the edit button instead of merging posts

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
