Is there any SNES Universal Adapter that can bypass the 50/60 hz check, games like Super Mario All Stars or Terranigma?

To my knowledge, the only other way (short of screwing around with it yourself at home - dangerous if you don't have the right tools or don't know what you're doing) is to make a US-compatible reproduction cartridge of an EU game. Most reproduction cartridges are sold for cheap, actually.

No, there is no Adapter, which can bypass the 50/60Hz Copy Protection afaik.

Use a Flashcart or mod your SNES (Switch or Switchless).

Action Replay can help to some degree. It has cheat code support to skip the error message, and a region bypass slot on the back.

But games don't change the console's video output between 50hz/60hz. Expect bugs in titles optimized for the other mode.

Which Action Replay? 1,2 or 3?

I'm not sure... I have three adapters for SNES. I live in the PAL region, that is 50hz games, and with those adapters, I can play American and Japanese ones. Some work better than others, only one of them allow me to play Seiken Densetsu 3 for example.

I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around, maybe it's easier to play 60hz games on a 50hz system, than the other way around. :/

What are your 3 adapters, and which one works with the Seiken Densetsu 3 game?

I have:
  • Honeybee (those are quite expensive for some reason)
  • Fire (Never used it really. Honeybee always worked until Seiken Densetsu 3. I bought this one, which didn't work with that game, and then I bought...)
  • Universal Adapter (Yes, that's its name. Looks like the image below. Some of them has a switch on the side, mine only has a hole there.)

But these are for playing NTSC games on PAL consoles, and probably not the other way around.

EDIT:

These all require the game you want to play, as well as a "source game" with the region you want.
Apparently, someone used a regular converter (looks like my "Fire" in design) to play PAL on his NTSC. Not sure if he had to break some plastic pins from his console though.

EDIT:

Adapters generally don't have a region. The cic is taken from the the correct region cart you have in another slot. So they will do PAL->NTSC, or NTSC->PAL.

You'll find the bottom of most adapters is the PAL/Japanese cart shape, but also has the slots in the back so it will fit an NA machine as well without breaking tabs.

Not really sure why anyone would want to use an adapter in 2016 though & put up with all the hassle that goes with them, when you can just fit a SuperCIC (simple internal mod) and get 100% compatiblity, auto 50/60Hz switching and keep the console looking stock.

The error screens. More PAL games block 60hz, versus NTSC games blocking 50hz.

Pac-Attack (Cosmo Gang The Puzzle) is an example of this. You can play the US/JP version at 50hz. But the PAL version at 60hz pops up a message.

Sorry if it has been awhile, but do you know if the UA Universal Adapter Expert Version works with PAL Super Mario All Stars, or pretty much any game with the 50/60hz check?

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
