Hi everyone. I've been lurking gbatemp for about a week now in anticipation of my new flash cart. Since it should be coming in any day now, I figured I should go ahead and join up. I have closely followed the emulation scene since 1997, but I'm just now getting into GBA homebrew/backups since I haven't been able to afford the equipment until recently. Anyway, I'm looking forward to my stay here at Hotel GBAtemp.

Welcome to the forums! I'm kinda new here too (not too new, but newer than most of the members), and this is truly the best community on the web. Enjoy your stay!

Thanks guys. My flash cart finally came and now I'm waiting for the save battery to charge. I'm just half an hour away (plugged it in half an hour ago) from portable emulation paradise.

Welcome StealthSock!

I hope you find everything in your room to be satisfactory. Just mind the moss and frogs inhabiting your bathroom. The frogs seem to have the idea that it's their bathroom so you might want to keep that door firmly locked.

By the way I think your pillow mint is just running out the door

Welcome to Hotel GBAtemp StealthSock, I almost didn't see you there. It's come to my attention that you snuck in stealthfully, and while that's fine and dandy for other places I'm here to collect the rent...

*Opium whipspers something in Luse's ear*

Oh...Yeah...We don't charge people... Um...

*cough*

Hi, uh... Welcome to GBAtemp, if your shampoo's missing it's because I'm taking it before dragonlord shows up and I didn't want to leave empty handed....

Games are getting huge nowdays, like 125gb a game (4k games anyways). I feel sorry for players that only have a 512gb hd. (Series S)

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty: i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should...
