So... A Chevy? Ford? Probably a Dodge, really.

Which model of Dodge do you drive? Actually, Honda wouldn't surprise me, either.
A manual two-door Honda Civic, if you're really that curious. Quite fuel efficient.

This is how logic works. This is how morality works.
No, that's how bootlicking works. You don't like me going after the broken facets of the system, because you're on its side. Time to accept that conservatives are not and never have been part of the counter-culture. Maybe one day Soros, Bezos, Musk, and all the others will send a thank you letter for your service, just keep on dreaming.

The changes were for the benefit of laymen who don't understand the first thing about climate science. Warming in the upper atmosphere causes more extremes on both sides of the weather spectrum, leading to more frequent and severe natural disasters and causing more and more of the Earth to become uninhabitable.

Says the guy worried about an upward trend in immigration. We've also previously discussed the skyrocketing insurance rates in Florida due to an increase in the number and frequency of hurricanes.

Idiocy, not a single billionaire is interested in a detailed discussion about climate change and who's most responsible for it. They'll avoid the topic at all costs.

Some of the first people to confirm climate change was real and man-made were Exxon-funded scientists in the 1970s. They kept it quiet because it benefits the elites and ultra-wealthy if the public stays ignorant about their oversized contributions to the destruction of the planet. You choose to side with them when you lie to yourself about climate change's observable impact.

Can you fucking read? Corporations and the ultra-rich pour more CO2 into the atmosphere in a year than the rest of us do in an entire lifetime. Not to mention all the toxic chemicals they dump into our water and air which have an even more immediate impact. There's no excuse for trying to deflect blame to the common man unless you just really love the taste of boot.
The corporations and the ultra-rich are who you quote and reference for your climate change narrative. How does that boot taste?

JK is basically just stupidly against language change. Words have meaning, but those meanings change as society uses them, removing, adding, and refining meanings over time. Man and woman aren't precise medical terms anyways, so who gives a fuck if someone wants to be referred to something other than their genitals/chromosome? No if you want that, using actual biological terminology like menstruation are much more useful.

Looks like shit's gone off track in the thread though lmao

Look, our understanding of the world changes as science discovers and refines things constantly. Even the oil companies knew about global warming since at least the 80s and spend absurd capital trying to hide it and sweep it under the rug. Climate change is just a rebranding of global warming specifically, because climate is about more than just temperature. Some places might get colder, and weather systems, ocean level, etc all change based on temperatures going up and down. Climate change encompasses all of that, but with the core finding still being "the average temperature of the earth is going up and accelerating at an alarming pace since the industrial revolution, and that's most likely really bad for a ton of reasons." The thing with the 70s is, though, if we were going by historical climate data, we *were* heading deeper into an ice age and we assumed the recent data was merely noisy and not representative of the climate at large. Well what do you know, it's not that the scientists were entirely wrong at the time, but we as a global society broke the trend by burning more and more coal and gas and releasing more and more CO2.

Personally I don't think most people who don't already get it will buy global warming using the "it causes more natural disasters" angle, but when more years than not keep are setting new temperature records, CO2 just keep going up and up and up, and more and more crops fail with increased average temperatures, maybe some of them will get it. Chances are they'll be kicking and screaming that it's a hoax all the way until we reverse the problem, and then they'll just say it was a hoax because "hey look, the trend all you idiots were screaming about reversed" even though there will be measurable human interventional reasons that more than account for it going back down.

Here's the thing though. If we do nothing, and keep letting CO2 output get higher and higher, the negative impacts of global warming will get more and more dramatic, and if we let it go too far (to the point where literally no one, not even you, could deny it) then the problem will already be way too far along to be able to really do anything about it. We will have dug our own grave, stood in front of it, and set a gun on a timer to kill us.

It's a special breed of hubris to think that the things we do, the pollution we release into the air, doesn't affect the environment around us and that those effects won't come back around to bite us as a species. They will, and they'll hit hard, if we don't do anything about it now. We should have dealt with it and started transitioning off of fossil fuels decades ago

Saying J.K. Rowling is against language changes it far off base. She's against the destruction of men and women because the crazy left thinks it's possible to change your sex, which in turn puts women in a harmful situation when you have men who want to compete against women in sports. She also doesn't like that the left gives transsexuals special treatment, like they can do no wrong and dislikes that the left will call you names and try to get you silenced if you point out negative aspects that deal with transsexuals. None of that is transphobic. Phobia's are an intense fear of something. She's not scared of transsexuals. She just wants the destruction of sexes to not happen.

The people making predictions based off the science are never correct. The people calling those people idiots for the past 5 decades have been right. It's not that the science is changing, it's that the science is starting from a place of lies and deceit.

You do know that plants need CO2 to survive, right? More CO2, the larger the plants. The larger the plants, the larger the animals. Wow, I just described the Jurassic Period where life was flourishing.

Chances are is words that one uses when they have zero facts. It's akin to saying probably or maybe.

All you have to do is prove it. Prove to me that the polar ice caps are completely melted and it no longer snows and that the seas are rising and that the seas are actually boiling from climate change, not undersea vents.

It's a special breed of hubris to piss on the world for 50-70 years and continue to tell us it's raining when we know you're just pissing on us.

Earth will survive humanity. Greta's childhood was never a concern. She's had more privilege than any child I have ever known.

If you want to continue the lie, no one can stop you. It just sucks that public schools have been teaching kids that their lives are hopeless for the past 50+ years.

A lot of scientists and doctors seem to be more interested in experimenting on and sacrificing youth/life. The machine looks like it was designed by evil.
