Hacking Am I able to add/login to my NNID on 5.3.2 / spoofed 5.5.0?

Sorry if this has been asked already, tried searching for an answer but didn't find one.

I just got a launch/NintendoLand bundle WiiU and successfully updated it to 5.3.2/WUPLoaded to 5.5.0.
As I have a disc copy of Mario Maker I want to add my Nintendo Network ID so I can wupload the latest mmaker updates and play it online (which is half the game).

Is it possible to add/login to your NNID on a spoofed WiiU? I'm currently using the TubeHax DNS. Do I need to remove this to login, and would it try to update if I did?

spoof to 5.5.0 (also use tubehax and use nnu-patcher, not sure if it's necessary) and you'll be able to link NNID
just done it myself couple of days ago and still able to use loadiine

What's NNID necessary for, and the reason why we need to spoof?

NNID is required to access eshop, and because linking NNID requires to be connected to Nintendo server, so spoof SHOULD BE necessary (never tried without spoofing though)

Thanks for the answers. I'll try it later when I manage to find my old Wii lan adapter (no wifi atm ).
