well yea he is an 9yr old spoiled child with a computer and an internet connection. norm said it works fine for him and i believe he removed it from that wiki.

tips tricks & button combination - removed

the tips tricks & button combination section of the wiki was originally added when smiths set up the outline. it served a purpose by allowing tips for performance and hidden globalsetting.ini lines to be collected for the user. since then the wiki has taken on more text and has been refined. most of the info was already found in appropriate sections. examples would be how to turn on cheats was in the cheats section as well, the soft-reset button combination was under the soft-reset options section, etc. other info was not akaio related but specific to performance, such as splitting up your roms to multiple directories or deleting the logbuf.txt file to fix the moonshell 2.xx issue. this type of info is now found in the FAQ section, so these lines were moved there. finally, i added the contents of the globalsettings.ini file to the wiki, so it only made sense that it should contain all info including the hidden manually added arguements.

this basically saves us some characters from the total ascii count. for users who are to lazy to read the whole wiki article (which seems to be most everyone), we should start to tell them to ctrl + f the wiki for the "text" they are looking for.

ie: "soft reset", "cheats", "panasonic formatter"

i know people hate change, and i'm sure some people will be like "why or what the hell" but this move made sense. this section was outdated and no longer served a purpose. while it did combine some useful info into one section, one can argue that it did not contain ALL of that type of info. this is something that further strengthens the need to remove it.

again everything that was there is still in the wiki. items are now grouped in their appropriate sections.

Quick Guide
Format the microSD with the Panasonic formatter.
Download the current version of AKAIO
Unzip the file and put the _aio* folder and akmenu4.nds at the Root (base) of your microSD card
Insert the microSD card firmly in a non-spring loaded (new shell) ak2.1 and ak2i. If your MSD slot is spring loaded make sure it "clicks."

Suggestion: standardise the term "microSD" (microSDHC for HC cards).

most of it was written before many of us had sdhc cards. either it should be "microSD/microSDHC" for the whole thing or just leave it at "microSD" and let the user know in the features list that both are supported. also, i like the "micro" ascii which is "µ". but that is a personal thing.

I think noobs can get confused with µSD, microSD and MSD. We should write only "microSD", because that is what is written on the card.

if a user can't put 2 and 2 together and know microSD also = microSDHC, then fuck em i don't want em using AKAIO.

ok im a noob and i look forward to becoming less of one. I don't know if this is the right place to be asking but i'll do it anyways.
Can anyone here help me with making a skin for the Acekard 2? I am an absolute noob when it comes to that dang acekard skin editor.
I have some good ideas for some skins but cannot understand the editor. So id appreciate the help. Perhaps I can give the idea to you and you could make it on your own free will?
Guide this noob into the right direction please.

it isn't. this thread is for discussions pertaining to the wiki. make a new post in the acekard section for other questions/comments/suggestions. also you should use the search button, there are a few threads on making skins for the acekards.

so i gave the wiki a read.

firstly thanks to Kire, your updates were good, well thought, and helped the wiki.

@85.18.173.4: i took out the 1.5 change log. the wiki has never supported a change log. users can find that when they download the file as it is in the readme. the wiki is a "guide/manual" for users running the firmware and not an advertisement for those who don't yet have it. make sense?

it appears that no user can upload images to the wiki. the wiki does not allow for external image linking. can everyone try to upload an image to a blank wiki page? if someone finds that they can upload images please contact vatoloco and ask for the akaio 1.5 images. we would greatly appreciate this!
