So, I purchased this device (Action replay powersaves for amiibo) hoping I would be able to put 20 hearts on wolf lin kfor the switch and I seem to be having trouble getting it to be recognized by Namiio or the powersaves software itself. It seems I made a slight mistake and when I first connected it, it was working fine. Was recognized and everything by the computer and by Namiio. However, Namiio decided to do a hardware update that was apparently a software update. It seemed stuck so after about 15 minutes I disconnected thinking it needed to be reset. Instead, now the computer no longer recognizes if I connect it or not and neither software recognizes that it is connected.
I have looked for hours trying to find the actual driver or the generic driver that was suppose to be installed but I cannot seem to locate it. I have no idea where in the system registry this would have been saved. I did try the don't check certificate method mentioned on a few forums thinking that maybe it was prevent it from registering but it stated "I did not have permission to turn off certificate signing" This is the admin account. I guess I as suppose to start the cmd with admin rights I will try that if need be. But as it stands I cannot seem to get it recognize. Does anyone know any fixes for the "no hardware found" when it comes to the amiibo reader? Not the 3ds card reader.
I am using windows 7 64 bit
Almost forgot to mention, I have changed the cable and tired a PS3 one that did not resolve the situation.
I tired multiple USB ports to see if that would help but it did not.
I have checked device manager and nothing is showing as not installed or with an yellow exclamation point.
I also tired uninstalling everything in the human interface section but that only turned off my keyboard and mouse which I had to reply get to get to work again
So update***
I went ahead and replaced the item at the gamestop I bought it at. I connected the new one and sure enough it was recognized again. So that means that if you take it out before NaMiio is done it bricks the powersave reader.
Sadly, it happened again when I turned on NaMiio but this time I figured out a way to get around it. First close NaMiio (ver.1.05), and then disconnect and reconnect the reader. Two uninstall NaMiio 1.05. Install NaMiio 1.06 which should work. But before you launch NaMiio 1.06, install the powersaves for amiibo software and let it do the hardware update. Then launch NaMiio. That seemed to work for me. Hwever, it seems that I am still unable to load the 20 heart wolf link into the switch. The data is corrupted it says when I try to use the restored amiibo in the game. It seems I would need to decrypt it and then use a hex editor to make it work.
Update 2***
SO I figured out how to do it without decrypting anything however, it only works with powertags but that's fine I still got my wolf link with 20 hearts that works in game. Tested and all.I guess I can get more powertags for amiibos I don't have, which isn't many. But then again I can find a use for that later when I want to unlock stuff.
