You'll probably won't need to wait much longer.
The full translation will likely have been released this year, if there are no unforeseen hurdles... just going from what the team said around Case 3's release.
Just be patient and let yourself be surprised when it does release

The savegame:Same as with the last patch. Case 1-3 savegame named with the same name as the case 1-5 patch and it will work.

Hum there still may be a possibility save is lost if it was saved in the middle of the sentence. I had this happen while beta testing.
But if you saved at the end of a case or part of it, it's 100% Ok.

Not difficult to interprete: E4 is obviously leetspeak. So the "4" has to be considered as an "A". So your hint is "EA". This means Case 4 will be released, once EA restarts to support the WiiU, which will be... never.

PW5 is good, at least, I quite enjoyed it. There's also a DLC case, which is long and good...

I held off playing the partial patches because I skim through Ace Attorney games pretty quickly

Rather, the final patch for the whole game.
They held off earlier from releasing an almost ready case 4 because the scenario is tied a lot with the final case (kind of like in Ace Attorney 3/5)
If nothing goes awry of course (I'd rather not wait for E5)
