And for the record: "If it's made by humans, it can NEVER be safe."

Look at the iPhone. Apple has best people working on the protection of their devices' firmwares - and still even a child of 8 can jailbreak every Apple portable device.
The thing that drives hacking is interest in the platform. Millions of people go crazy over the Iphone - cracked! iPad - cracked in days. Not to mention the Wii and the 360.
The only reason I see the PS3 isn't hacked is it's launch. There were almost no good exclusives in 2006 - so the initial momentum was lost, Sony took their time to improve the protection. When Dark Alex quit, he said the PSP protection went like 90% up since launch, and that they were still using some exploits they found in early firmwares.
Now, the Wii was hacked quickly because of the interest in motion gaming. X360- because of its early launch and interest in next-gen graphics. The PSP - because it had mind-blowing game quality, DS- because of the great library.
The only reason of the Dsi is not hacked is the lack of interest, Sure, DsiWare has some good titles - but they are not killer apps. If it was a full-blown Mario or Zelda game, the situation would have changed rapidly, I'm pretty sure. As for SD-loading... come on, the flashcarts are really cheap, no need to bother. Speaking of cheapness, the DsiWare's also pretty cheap, 10 bucks at best, again. no need to bother.
As for 3DS, the interest will be over-the-top. The initial line-up is great. So people will be trying their best to hack it. Having a very good start of the backward compatibility - the very same way it all started on the DS.
And finally, we don't really know, HOW sophisticated the protection will be. It's only natural Nintendo is saying it's so great, you don't expect them to be inviting people to hack their latest machine, do you?
Probably for sales after 3 months or so but they will always have the true hard nintendo fans that like to buy everything the first dayadgloride said:If the protection can't be broke (Which I doubt). Nintendo will soon be seeing that the 3DS is doing badly on sales.

Oh wait.
Quite frankly seeing how big the Nintendo brand name is, they could easily do well. They do well as it is on games sales.

Seriously, ever since they became harder to hack PSP's just haven't been selling.
So, you agree?monkat said:_Chaz_ said:Fixed.Gaydrian said:Like Sony with PSP sales.adgloride said:If the protection can't be broke (Which I doubt). Nintendo will soon be seeing that the 3DS is doing badly on sales.

It has nothing to do with perceived lack of games, poor battery life, people who already have an older (yet almost as good) model, UMD issues (the GO), or just general lack of interest due to market domination by Ninty. Definitely being more difficult to crack. Totally.

Like if you guys did even a little more research then just click the first link you'd find out there are flash cards. This exactly proves how unpopular it is and even if i'm wrong who relaly gives a shit about the Dsi haven't met one person who wanted it or has it but everyone has a DSlite

Why would you consider cooking a cake? It's already cooked! You're obviously criminally insane, and I'll have to ask you to not come to my next dinner party.monkat said:This thread has turned into a huge flame.
Grats, OP!Excuse me mister? Let me point out how wrong you are by dissecting your post.

Obviously if cakes had shape-shifting powers they would have revolted and killed us. This has not happened, so you are wrong.monkat said:hasCake cannot own something. If it did cakes would have girlfriends instead of us, ending the human race as we'd be unable to breed.

You should focus your energy into something more productive than dissecting pointless posts on gbatemp. Responding is one thing, but your post is something else. If you've gone out of your way to prove yourself, then you've suceeded, but I suggest you take a closer look at how it comes across. You seem like a cool person, and are probably capable of great things. Make use of your power, and you will succeed. Take care.

are there any DSi homebrews out yet?
If the piraters really wanted to, they could crack that system like a nut!
They just don't find the DSi mode interesting, or challenging, or worth the effort. Or there aren't enough people working on it, because there's nothing but shovelware available, and the homebrew possibilities are too lame. Or something.
That, plus they have to take the car in for an oil change, and they have to get some laundry done because it's really starting to pile up.
But it has nothing to do with successful anti-piracy! Nothing whatsoever! Don't let anyone tell you that!
You ask what the point is for 3DS flashcarts, having said only a paragraph earlier that you want homebrew for the DSi. I don't know, could that be a reason?t377y000 said:as for 3DS it wont be hacked, nintendos enhancing there security over the years & 3DS will be more open to online.
as for 3DS flash carts? whats the perpous? it already wil do everything. music, 3d movies, 3d video chat,3d internet browser games, software installs, 3d pictures & camera, makign a flash cart for 3DS that would be like making a musiic & video player dick for ps3.

Also, you talk about the AK2i. We know that isn't DSi mode, we're not stupid.
Finally - start using capital letters. They're an incredible invention.
Oh woah, holy crap, idea. If the 3DS can somehow do flash 10 (and add the ability to resize flashes and map the 3DS's buttons/pad to emulating keyboard keys) then people could just play flash games on the 3DS, opening up (limited) homebrew while not allowing piracy.t377y000 said:browser on it.
