I've acquired a "new" style 3DS cheap and managed to rescue it from a potential "brick mode". It now boots into standard 3DS mode as long as a small file called arm9loaderhax.bin is on the MicroSD card. Naturally I'm pleased I at least got to this stage as my experience of softmodding anything is limited to PSPs which, as I guess you all know, are simple by comparison.
Now what I'm not sure about is what to do next. As the arm9 file is present does this mean the system is "half done" or what? I'm not fussed about which CFW as long as I can install cias and run emulators etc. I'd particularly like to finally get round to playing Xenoblade Chronicles and maybe run a GBA emulator on it.
What would my best (and SIMPLEST) strategy?
I can also boot into a Luma config menu holding start or select (now I'm typing I don't recall which) but like I said the MicroSD literally only has the .bin file on it, nothing else.
TIA
Steve
PS I know there's several "hack your 3DS threads" but I had to ask as I'm not really sure "where" this 3DS is in the "process" etc so don't want to start following a thread to discover I'm just going back to brick mode.
