Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

So now im kinda in an awkward spot. I managed to go from fw 12.0.2 to 5.0.0 with my NAND backup from 2018 and it worked fine. Then I installed the emunand and updated my emunand from 5.0.0 to 12.0.2 with Daybreak without burning fuses. Then I tried going online on my sysNAND to see if im banned...

I see, thanks. Now when im using my sysNAND, should I always launch it from Hekate instead of the normal way without entering Hekate when going online with the games I already own?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Okay cool. I was able to restore my nand without problems and am now making emunand. Do I need to backup my NAND again after making the emunand or can I use the first nand I made which I used to restore (before making the emunand)? Like the same nand could be used multiple times for the same...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I copy pasted my (current) SD card contents to a HDD, I just dont happen to find my previous SD card contents at the time of my first NAND backup before cfw. Is that a problem? Also would it be okay to have only the nand file on my sd card when doing the restore?

Okay thanks for the info. One more question: my nand backup from 2018 is just one 30 gb file and my sd card is fat32, should I format it to exfat during the restore and then format back to fat32?

I see. I still checked and havent burnt any fuses after I did the clean nand backup. So I can have autoRCM mode on when doing the nand restore and everything should be fine? Also the emunand is completly separated from sysnand so I can have different fw on each partitions? Like after I restore...

Hacking I cracked my switch in 2019, should I restore NAND and re-crack it to get sysnand and emunand?

I see, thank you. I checked my fuse count and it's still 6 (I did my nand backup on 5.1.0 and im currently on the newest fw so I havent burnt fuses), should I keep my RCM enabled or disable it before restoring my NAND on sysNAND?

Back in 2019 when I cracked my switch emunand didnt really exist it was only on SX OS and I was using reinx and atmosphere. If I want to go online with the games I already own and keep the other stuff on emunand, should I restore my NAND from 2019 and crack this again to get a cleaner sysnad and...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
