    Hacking BlueDump Alpha 2

Doh...just tested this out...seems pretty sweet... When backing up any savedata for Super Mario Brother - the NES VC version, the savedata saves to "WII_ FAGE - Super Mario Bros." WITH the "." at the end. I think that "." at the end of the folder name is causing a problem in Windows. When I...

    Hacking triiforce mrc

I've been messing with this, and digging, for the better part of 2 nights now... Is it possible to use the iso forwarder pack(s) found in this thread (posted by kallstar) completely from usb? (completely being the iso, converted to wbfs, and the gameid.dol) And what is the EXACT required...

Homebrew Homebrew Channel wont display apps

I've been digging around searching for an answer, and troubleshooting this weird problem... Searched the forums too, so, I apologize if the answer is here somewhere, but, I could not find it... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. "Problem SD Card" is a 2 GB Kingston SD Card...I have...

    Homebrew GUI Wad Manager 1.5

I don't mean to be repetitive...just hoping the developer sees and is able to correct. I realize most people won't be switching repeatedly back-n-fort between SD and SMB, but, there is a glitch of some sort there. Not a big deal, it doesn't code dump or anything. Great application!

There is a forwarder channel earlier in this thread... Right Here Complete with video and configuration options/settings instructions.

    Homebrew GUI Wad Manager 1.5

I did not get to test Rev11 yet, but, in Rev8, there is some strange bug in which if you are in browsing SMB, and then click SD it gives some sort of error and goes back to the menu. I forget the screen and I'm not home right now, but I think it had 4 buttons on in, like SMB, SD, and I forget...

    Homebrew GUI Wad Manager 1.5

This is AWESOME! I wonder if there would be a way to add showing the banner or icon from the wad in the wad list. Just a thought. Totally not necessary...and maybe/probably too much overhead...especially when using SMB. Still AWESOME though!

Tutorial Modify ANY Wii 4.3 & below

EXCELLENT guide...I did not get to read the entire thread, so, I apologize if this is in here somewhere, but, either way, a little blurb may be needed/wanted in the first post... Is CIOSCORP ok for LU64+? I thought I read that it is not, but I really can't remember. This is not a question for...

    Hacking SD/USB Loader v1.5

My experience with Far Cry Vengeance is pretty close to what WiiPower states... USB Loader: USB loader 1.5 with cios 36 v10: I tried a copy of Far Cry Vengeance that was IOS249 patched and it would restart/reboot the wii at the end of the first level. I tried the IOS249 patch after first...

Hacking WBFS Manager and Channel Creator 2.0!

Looks pretty cool! Can't wait to have time to read this more closely and test it. If you could integrate this with the modified wbfs found here: http://wiinewz.com/forums/backup-loaders/9...f-wbfs-exe.html That would be AWESOME. The modified version adds rename capabilities - to rename the...

    GameCube Backup Launcher 0.1 Xi

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
