Originally released January 2016 for PS4 and Vita, Dragon Quest Builders established itself as a fun and interesting spin on the Minecraft sandbox formula. After being announced for Nintendo Switch in August, the game finally has a release date. Along with the Switch's unique hybrid functionality, this version will also include exclusive experiences and items.

Will you be picking this up February 9th?

Im somehow super stoked for this BUT Im wondering how is this different from the PS3 dragon quest builders if any?
Can someone shed some light on this ?:)

EDIT: It seems that, this is the very same game as the old DQ:B for PS3.

It is more or less the same game, but on the Switch. It's a selling point in and of itself to many. There's also going to be a few unique things, but I wouldn't be expecting anything game changing.
Press Release said:
Playing Dragon Quest Builders on Nintendo Switch will offer players experiences and items exclusive to this version of the game. This includes the ability to gather rare crafting materials and battle enemies while riding the powerful (and adorable) Great Sabrecub, as well as additional crafting options for more robust building customization options.

What is the purpose of this game..you have to build the quest and then completed it? Such a waste of time

Some would say the same about video games in general.

I think not.

It's more like the quest is to build a successful city, and fight monsters and such, with each world having different environments. Which, if you're not a fan of Minecraft-esque/city building games, might not be for you.

Played the game on the Vita myself, but I couldn't be bothered to get past the second world cuz it was just so boring. I wish they didn't completely wipe your progress every time you beat a world. Don't think I'll bother getting this myself, especially if there's no real update to the game.

Word on that. Wiping progress is a major minus for the game.

Pretty cool, enjoyed it on PS4 but never got around to finishing it, might play one more time.

Well I think we can all say it's a waste of time - just a really fun one.

Portal Knights does this so much better. Character progression, classes, persistent world builds, local multiplayer.

I could never be bothered to complete the second world on DQBuilders after they wipe you clean, portal knights let's you warp back anywhere with all your progression and builds intact.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 has been confirmed for the Switch also. It was announced with its PS4 counterpart a while back.
