It's easy to unban your 3DS if you get banned. I wouldn't worry too much about it.If I really wanted to homebrew my 3DS I would just buy a gold card separately for it in the future which probs will not happen until the DS is not supported anymore, plus I really care about 3DS multiplayer and too scared of bans

Timebomb related information seems to be all over the place. I hear different results from different members and sites. So the only way I can personally know more about them would be for me to actually get one of these carts and start fucking about the time settings on my system.
I have only heard about the r4isdhc.com having timebombs, and the yearly carts was an assumption.
That's what I've heard as well, but I think it would be helpful to at least test this in order to give a solid answer.
Actually flashcarts from http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp also have time bombs, I am using the R4i SDHC 3DS RTS with the 1.84b update. In 2020 the flashcart will softlock.
The R4i 3DS RTS from r4i-sdhc.com and the 2014-2017 R4i cards from r4isdhc.com have the same hardware.
