Hi! I want to play certain DS and SNES games in my O3DS and I knew about the existence of emulators of this kind. So after I do some research about how to install them and how they work, some questions still bug me. Here they are:

1- If the default location of the TWLoader roms are in a SD/roms folder, and Snes9x_3ds can use any location, can I do a subfolder in the /roms folder to put my SNES roms there? Or it's not recommended?

2- What's a donor rom? (TWLoader)

3- How do you update bootstrap? (TWLoader)

4- Snes9x_3ds says that I should exit the app from its own menu. Does TWLoader have an option like this that I should use?

5- Is there something that I shouldn't do in any of those apps?

Thanks in advance! :)

I would recommend using a folder called snes at the root of your SD because that is what snes9x looks for.

TWLoader lets you update within the settings themselves on page 4.

The donor rom should always be Mario kart ds. So you have to find a copy of that to play other games. It has to do with proper save patching and loading.

If I missed something just ask for clarification

Thanks! That answers the most important questions, and I think I understand. Does TWLoader have an exit option, or I can just press the HOME button and exit?

Talking about that, how often does it freeze? And, just to make sure, to convert a normal rom into a donor rom you just have to press Y for 10-15 seconds during the game's boot, right?

Freezing depends on the game, like Pokemon ss or hg are newer and freeze if you play too long so you have to save frequently.

To set donor rom you have to press start or select when hovering over mkds then after that is set you hover over the game you want to play and make sure it is set to use donor rom

I didn't understand quite well that last part. Press Start while I'm over the game in the selection menu then what? Do I have to set all roms to donor roms?

So pressing start/select I forget which will open a menu specific to the game you have highlighted. For mkds you want to set it as the donor rom which will now work for every game you set to use the donor. Every other game you play you just have to make sure it is set to use that donor

Actually, you don't have to set them all individually, as they use the donor rom by default. If it doesn't for some reason, just set it to force use.

So to set a ROM as a donor ROM I have to:

1-Press Select over the game in the selection menu
2-Choose force-use in that donor ROM option
3-Press A over "set as donor ROM"

Am I right?

Thanks for your time dev ^_^

Yes, though step 2 isn't needed.
