Ok so i just read that you can change the buttons like on a ps4 just by going to accessability options i think but is this the same for a jap ps vita on 3.65?

I don't think there's an option. you can change buttons on 3.65 by making a full backup of the memory card. there should be a file named registryBackup.txt. open that with a hex editor, look for button_assign, and it will be the 13th byte under the button_assign line. 00 = circle; 01 = cross for confirm. I used the hex editing method with the system.dreg/.ireg back on 3.20. I still have circle as confirm to match the wii u on both my pstv and vita.

edit: btw, you need the vita img tools to decrypt, then reencrypt the backup. there's no other way on 3.65.

not that I'm aware of which is why you have to edit the registry manually or use vita toolbox. your only option is the last method I mentioned since you can't dump the system.dreg/.ireg. I had to do so through the mailfail method which has been patched. and, obviously, you can't use vita toolbox on 3.65.

edit: there's one other option. I believe there's a button swap option in henkaku settings as well, but you can't install henkaku on 3.65, so it's pretty pointless for your situation.

Actually yes, there are remap option in setting. It's under accessibility like you said.
Yes but that's different. It's just remapping, it doesn't actually swap the layout settings to the original asian layout.

You need hacks, so henkaku or failmail, and maybe the backup editor thing if above 3.60, I'm not sure if that works perfectly.

I never knew about that option. it must be like the ps4's button layout option then. I own a JP ps4, and trying to change the confirm button doesn't work with that button layout option from what I remember. I just left it like the wii u's. I changed my pstv and psv to match it. only my ps3 is different, and I might change that.

I believe swapped buttons r for the menus. the button layout option, I think, is for in game which is y u have to go through hoops to get the buttons swapped on the livearea/home menu. ps4 remote play shouldn't be affected.

Yes and that's what op want as i understand it. You can remap the button to match the eu layout.

I have a japanese vita and to be honest it isn't a problem to use circle when I'm on the home screen. AS long your games are EU/US, you won't have a problem.

I would recommend getting a Japanese Vita, just because they came in sexy colours. I have a blue one.
