i dont see any sense in streaming from a pc to the switch.

why power 2 devices to run an emulator.

i would actually prefer it the other way round, if only nintendo was up to date with todays technology..... have the switch stream to your tv..... but i guess that would require better hardware and would cost them more.
If you stream from pc to switch you can play laying down/whatever position you want with the screen close to you like you would with any othe portable devices and be able to play games that were only made for the pc. And streamimg from switch to the tv isnt really necesary when you can just connect the dock to the tv via HDMI and play in docked mode

1. Maybe you want to play Total War in bed.
2. Maybe you're not running an emulator.
3. Yeah you know, I mean if only there was someway to play your Switch on something with an HDMI connection. If Nintendo was with the times they would have even made it more stable than streaming, stupid Nintendo.

but like my switch, looses connection with the joycons when sat on my couch (less than 5 meters away).

you can actually stream your pc to other devices too and play them.

i cant think anyone playing lets say a PC game laid down.

Problem using when docked like i mentioned, but it is basically a tablet and nearly all tablets/mobiles these days can connect and push content to your tv over your network.

so im guessing pushing content from a pc to a switch is cool..... yet said pc can push to tv or connect using hdmi.

but being able to avoid joycon sync issues and be able to play/charge the console/joycons at the same time by streaming to your tv...... no i guess i cant see sense in that.

but like most things companies do, nintendo seem to be behind..... its a feature im sure would be used if it was included, maybe gaming and chat at the same time on the console (without having you use your mobile).

Online gaming, behind.... social media interaction, video recording/sharing..... things that are the norm what people are using these days and nintendo dont think of doing it.

with nintendo its old tech, gimmick controllers, same games and little else.

Hmm my switch doesnt have that problem, you should probably contact nintendo and ask for a repair or something idk how to help. Theres nothing wrong with having more devices to stream to, more options is a nice thing to have. Id love to play touhou or overwatch curled up in my comfy bed

Id love to play DOOM (2016 version) when I'm not able to be in my room with my PC. My point for wanting to use that streaming thing is that I can't always be in my room with my pc when I have my daughter every weekend. So since I have a very powerful internet/wifi, streaming will be no issue when I need to be on the other side of the house.

1.Joycon issue was fixed in new units and Nintendo fix any launch joycon cons in under a week for free.

2.cool so because you can stream pc to other devices that makes streaming to switch pointless why?

3.I would play a pc game streamed to my Switch laying down so now you do.

4.So show me a tablet streaming Zelda BOTW playable to a tv and I'll give you this one.

5.Yeah but people like handhelds, people like playing handheld and not always connected to a tv.

6.I can't see sense in that either, hence why you dock it to play on tv while it charges console/joycons instead of lagging, sub par resolution, frame rate drops and input lagging streaming ie PS4 remote play.

7.Voice chat I actually agree with

8.I guess if you want these things then yes Nintendo are behind so I agree with this. Luckily I couldn't give 2 shits about recording my gameplay and posting to social media so it doesn't factor into anything for me.

9.Switch is definitely the most impressive handheld gaming device on the market including all handheld consoles and tablets but this begs the question if you don't agree why the fuck are you still talking about it 6 months later?

@Risingdawn
Regarding the Joy Con, up to now Nintendo has only made me throw many into postage and it is still not solved.
Even though it is covered by warranty, all postage must be paid by me.
And I've sent my Joy Con only to get back a new one with the same problem still there.

In the end I decided to stop giving a fuck and use the Joy Con "from less than 5m away"
Perhaps next year when I am sure there is no chance I will get another bad Joy Con I will go to the store and buy another one.

Actually, even if @Retroboy is usually a half time troll, I agree with his complaints, they are quite valid.

PS: Why are you numbering your replies when the numbers don't point to anything in the quoted post? It is confusing and not really useful at all. Suggestion: If you for some reason are going to number your replies, at least mark the parts of the post you are replying to with the same numbers, so the numbers have a reason to be there at least.

I just ordered a Nintendo Switch with one mystery game from a high rated seller on ebay. Is there anything I should know about system flaws and such? What do you all recommend for a first time owner? Also, is $360 for the system and a random game a good deal? It was the cheapest I could find after searching through 80+ pages on ebay.
i never understood the point of "mistery game" seriously that's a scam...
is the point that the seller gets rid of the stock of shitiest games while the buyer will think he got something?
do theese mistery games actually have any good games?

yeah i know between the 4 games the switch has.. you can almost bet what you will get, but i seen this deals with other consoles

You absolutely need to get a tempered screen glass protector - get one from amFilm, Orzly or CaseBase. Do not, DO NOT insert the Switch on the Dock before you do it as you'll risk the screen being scratched and you can't unscratch it.

After the screen have a tempered screen glass protector then you can insert the Switch on the Dock safely ?

Yeah, even if you use a thin plastic film it will be OK when you put it in the dock.
And also, if you put it in the dock without a film it most probably will be ok too, but as stated you can't unscratch it, so better put some kind of film over it.

PS: And if it is a cheap thin plastic film, the film itself might get scratched, true, but you take it off and put a new one (even so my film is still not scratched)

They fixed mine in 5 days no questions asked and it cost me £2.90 for the price of a small parcel.

My numbers relate to his paragraphs, it's really not very difficult to figure out, I'm sure people have the mental capacity to make the correlation.

And finally I number them because Retroboy is notorious for making points of his own whilst not answering any counterpoints put to him. By numbering my points I can easily request a direct response for the point numbered quickly.

The numbers are there for the counter argument rather than for the reply, but I thank you for your concern.

I know, but whoever that is just reading the post has to go the extra mile and figure that.
Now, imagine you put numbers before each paragraph, like this:
(1) but like my switch, looses connection with the joycons when sat on my couch (less than 5 meters away).

(2) you can actually stream your pc to other devices too and play them.

(3) i cant think anyone playing lets say a PC game laid down.

(4) Problem using when docked like i mentioned, but it is basically a tablet and nearly all tablets/mobiles these days can connect and push content to your tv over your network.

(9) with nintendo its old tech, gimmick controllers, same games and little else.
Now there is no need for someone that is reading the post (but not your mind) to go around figuring it out.
I think it reads way better/easily and avoids confusion.

Anyway, it is just a suggestion if you want people to understand your post with more ease.

Fair point, you're right I should have numbered his quotes too.

I should also really not get dragged into Retroboy's attention seeking but I just can't resist. Especially when his whole argument revolves around streaming to the Switch is pointless, not streaming from the Switch is a failure and the dock isn't the same as streaming just better in the first place.

P.S @sarkwalvein sorry for being narky Retroboy just gets on my tits.

Hang on, Retroboy is in here? That explains things.
Isn't he always lol, I should really put him on ignore again to stop the urge to feed his trolling. I only took him off last time to laugh at his suspension for trolling tbh.

This.

I sometimes remove the Switch now and then and it's perfectly fine because it doesn't scratch the screen at all.

Orzly screen protector is normally $35...But it is $6.99 right NOW on Amazon! Buy it right now!! Best one by far.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9RG3XS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
No, it's not normally $35. That's just the price they list to trick you into thinking you're getting a bargain. That's not to say there's anything wrong with $7, but that's a fairly typical price (if maybe a touch cheaper than average) for the tempered glass switch screen protector two-packs. Also I think I'd seen some mixed reviews for the Orzly ones in terms of ease of installing without screwing up, though I can't be certain. I can say that AmFilm have been pretty dang good. They're a touch thicker than the Orzly, but honestly it has no problem sliding into the dock regardless.

Yeah, I've seen some crazy "MSRP" prices for screen protectors on Amazon but that's just them trying to trick people into thinking they're getting a deal. xD

trolling pmsl.

love it, when someone posts bad points or doesnt show the same love, theyre a troll HA HA.

as for the free fix for the joycons, guess what, I have opened a case with the ombudsman and have forwarded my emails to them, because nintendo take months to reply and when they do they copy/paste the same shit..... apparently the joycon issue should be emailed to the Pr email address.

i am actually now going to file complaint in that the unit itself at launch is not fit for purpose.

and to the guy above who said about playing docked to charge..... as a counter to me stating if nintendo actually was up to date and allowed you to stream to the tv, erm when your docked you cant charge your joycontrollers because your using them to play the game.

now i guess lovers are that blinded to see the advantage of using modern technology and features, if you could stream to your tv, you can charge not only your tablet but joycontrollers at the same time while you play.

i then also think he mentioned about ps4 remote play.... cant say i have had any issues unless my ISP is running slow, but i often remote play to my laptop or vita with no problems.

only time i do is if my isp is having issues (which is often) or if multiple users are streaming.

but i do love it, its like switch is cool because it can stream pc to switch, but vice versa bad idea because you connect switch to tv via hdmi you such balls.... erm pc also connect to hdmi but can also stream to smart devices and vice versa.

i would never really dream of streaming say pj64 to a switch, id rather just play it on my pc, i dont see sense in powering a pc and leave it running and drain the switch and then have to sit with that on charge at the same time.

but hey ho, if thats what people like then fair enough

you can still charge your joycons when playing in docked mode by either getting the joy con charging grip or the joy con battery pack
