Hello! I just downloaded a backup of Super Mario Galaxy (which I already owned, fyi). However, instead of coming in an iso format, I got tons of small files, named smgwiist.r01,smgwiist.r02, smgwiist.r03... smgwiist.r74. Does anyone know how I can convert this to an iso that I can play on dolphin?

That's a multi-part RAR archive. There should be a .rar file as well, in which case you should extract the .rar file.

Uncompress. Do you see a .rar file in with the group of .r01, .r02, etc? If so, open it with WinRAR and extract the disc image.

@GerbilSoft I tried this, but I keep getting messages that certain files are incomplete, and that winrar is unable to extract an ISO from these files. For another game, all the files are in ISO format, and that had the exact same issues.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The exact error message is: "the archive file is incomplete"

Then you're missing some parts of the RAR archive.

As an alternative: If you have a hacked Wii available, you can use CleanRip to rip the disc image.
