I've only tried SNES9s so far on the Wii U, and I can definitely say I'm impressed. Presuming that the Wii U is more powerful than the O3DS when it comes to playing retro games, I was quite surprised to see Yoshi's Island play at full speed which can't quite get up to full speed on the O3DS. I was also happy to see it can play some SNES hacks at full speed (the only one I tried was SMW2+2 by Golden Yoshi, and it plays great on the Wii U). Now, I have a question, will Super Scope support be happening on one of the SNES emulators for RetroArch someday? It would be nice to see it work on the Wii U too.

Why is XMB all white? I copied the assets folder from the PC version to the Wii U/media folder, what gives? Do I have to copy the folder from version 1.50 on the PC to 1.50 on the Wii U folder?

Using absolutely latest nightly. Or do I have to change something in the config?

Check under Menu settings, there's a colour option somewhere in there.

I'm not seeing any such option under Driver config :( Don't I have to change something in the config? And do I need to use the assets from the PC version of 1.50 or does it matter? A screenshot would be helpful to show where it is.

Remember the CFG files created between versions tend to make a mess of the installation.
Start off with a fresh CFG and see if that helps.

I did, I deleted it and it didn't do squat. I always delete config files and the bloody XMB menu is white. *sigh* I copied the assets folder from PC to the RetroArch media folder, nothing. It's not working for me, at all. I don't know what to do. So yeah, it's a bust.

Redownload the assets package again.
Once you do, search around in the RetroArch's settings, I know there has to be some sort of option to change the main Menu theme and the colour as well, but can't recall exactly where.

SD:/RetroArch/media, or something to that effect, is the folder it's set to in the config. I'm downloading 1.5.0 for PC now and replacing the assets folder. Well, I eliminated one issue, CFW used with Haxchi no longer seems to crash it upon loading it a second time, using the latest nightly build. So far I can confirm anyway.

Do the files need to be in the assets folder itself, or loose inside of /media?

The path should be SD:/retroarch/media/assets/ I believe.
I'll check when I get home since I have yet to install the newest cores with XMB support as well.

Can you use the assets from here? https://buildbot.libretro.com/assets/frontend/bundle/assets/xmb/
Also let's say I want apply "systematic" theme, it goes in sd:retroarch/media/assets/systematic
?
Are your Custom Icons still available?
I click on the link on your signature but it redirects me to mediafire's Home page.

Aaand the damn XMB menu is still white on white text :( I honestly don't know what to do now.
Time to file a GitHub report.

Edit: Aha! Thank you so much, I changed the directory and..it...looks so sleek :wtf::blink:

I have the same problem... how can I fix it?

Double check that the assets is in SD:/retroarch/media/assets, and that the directory is specifically set to that, otherwise, it won't work. XMB has barely been implemented, isn't quite perfected yet, but is still quite responsive.

Spam-loading the menu, app, ROMs, cores, etc doesn't seem to present any issues with stability.

Edit: This may be my new go-to version until 1.5.1 is released :P
