Quick question how did xcx run on loadiine? Any audio sync, frame rate or loading issues? Zelda seems to run on the same tech so I'm curious if there were problems playing with that method.

Does anyone here actually have any concrete information on when retailers will get their shipments?
Anyone here possibly working in retail?

Some retailers have copies already. Tried to get a copy the other day but the system wouldn't let it through until release. Very surprised it hasn't leaked yet.

It's because the Nintendo Ninjas are keeping an eye on the pirates... and killing them.

They then take the corpse and cyberneticly engineer them into more Nintendo Ninjas! Mwahahaha.

Thats were the Sony Samurai and the Microsoft Marines got their ideas from!

that sounds like some serious 12 year old bullshit, dude. what store did you try to buy it at? I've worked at a lot of game stores and big box stores and none of them had a system set up to stop the purchase of an item before Street date. it's all up to how retarded the staff member is.

I worked for a major retailer in the US and the cash registers would give an "item not found" error on games/movies sold before 9PM the day before release (live on west coast, corporate on east coast).

at GameStop, Walmart and best buy I can confirm once an item is received and in the inventory it can be sold regardless of the street date.

Except they don't go out on the shelf until the release date and the boxes are marked "DO NOT SELL BEFORE THIS DATE" all over. I work at a Walmart and we get movies and games the week of release all the time and they sit locked in the back until they are meant to go out.

Street dates usually don't get broken by accident, since it's basically impossible for anyone to "accidentally" crack a box that says "DO NOT SELL", bring it out to the floor and sell it to someone. I'd say that 99% of the time it's completely intentional and both parties know exactly what they're doing.

Yea no doubt. stays out back in the cage waiting for release date. but so often I'd have night crew pull pallets out with boxes clearly marked do not sell until (insert date) and I'd have to put them out back in the cage.

that's usually how it works. the pullers out back don't even have access to the cage, only the electronics department manager.

I've had times where Ive been off and had a part timer open the department and they have put out games before release date. sometimes I think they just assume if it's on the pallet it needs to go out regardless of what the box says. most of my staff were complete mongoloids tho so that could also explain it.

either way if a unreleased product makes it to the shelf and the selling employee doesn't know it shouldn't be sold it can be sold with no prompts or warning at the till. that was my point.

Did this change because I found a game early a couple years back (at Walmart) and the guy went to ring it up but the system wouldn't allow him. He even called in a manager and she said she couldn't either. She might have been lying about not being able to override it but I know the first guy was being honest.

it may have changed, it's been a few years since i worked at walmart. my guess is the employee knew it wasn't time to sell yet and was scared for his job. the system at walmart is super basic. it's basically just a calculator.

yup boxes are marked and often products wont go active until they are meant to. you can override it but depending on where you're shopping it can require a manager approval.

I called my shop.
They are willing to sell before release, but Nintendo ships it to them by the 1st. So kinda pointless.
Oh well.

Wonder If I buy the WiiU version(digital) I can get the Swith version later when I get the Switch or at least a discount?
