All brand-new and sealed Vitas are pretty much guaranteed to be on 3.60 or lower. The only known 3.61+ Vitas are the newer Red and Silver Japan models, so other than those two, you should be fine purchasing a new one.

Yes, it applies to every brand new fat, slim, and PSTV available in any retail store. Only those 2 colored JP Vita's have 3.61+ on them.

Used ones will vary, depending on the store.

I have a pstv on 3.20. Is there a way to install tn-x on this?
I have 1 of the exploit games on my ps3 already. Tried to copy it over earlier and the pstv keeps prompting me to update. Any way around this?

Edit - I finally got it installed. Had to use vita update blocker. I thought that was patched out a long time ago.

Does Psm dev for unity not work on 3.60? I ask because I don't see update files for firms above 3.51.

Nope; as of 3.52, PSM Dev assistant support was completely nuked. IIRC, it's already mentioned in the guide.

Is there a way of cloning the epsp-bubble installer to install ARK on the other bubble or do i estrictly need a psp psn game demo for that?

I have adrenaline on the normal bubble, just figured that if i could get both that would increase my compatibility (and i'd be able to play soundless psx)

How good is psx retroarch? Has there been any updates to the vita branch of retroarch?

My vita is activated, i just lack a ps3 to transfer a demo from. And i'm too scared of IDU/kiosk mode to try package installer.

You can clone the bubble. Just copy the contents in ux0:/pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPEX00104 to a new folder in PSP/GAME (you can just use NPEX00103 or something). Then open Easy Adrenaline Installer (the latest version) choose the option to update the database. That will put the new bubble on your homescreen.

Then just install ARK as you normally would in the cloned bubble and everything should work fine.

But i already have adrenaline installed, if i clone it i'd have 2x adrenaline,no? Unless you're telling me i can overwrite adrenaline with ARK on the cloned bubble

Adrenaline is not installed in the PSP game, it simply hooks into PSPEmu while it loads the game (that's why taihen is needed for Adrenaline, but not for ARK). There are no alterations made to the game folder itself, you can create a copy and it'll just be the base game.

But the bubble installer is based on vitashells license, no? I think i read that from @Voxel

So by installing ARK over the bubble installer i'd still require taihen/henkaku to get into ARK. As opposed to having ARK over a legit psp demo, which would run without hacks a la VHBL.

If i got anything mistaken please correct me. Thank you

It shouldn't matter, it should run regardless AFAIK.

You would still require Henkaku if you wanted to use ARK in that case, only legit PSP games can launch ARK without Henkaku since they have legitimate licenses.

At the moment, you can install ARK on 3.63 via psvimgtools for PSP homebrew (though apparently it's a bit buggy), install the whitelist hack on the PSTV and that's about it for normal end users.

Only ARK eCFW for the PSP-side at the moment (PSP ISO/homebrew loader). I haven't really looked into it a lot myself since I have never been on 3.63, so not a lot is explained about it in this guide.
I believe you can get someone who is trusted in the community to make an ARK bubble for you in the form of a CMA backup.
EDIT: scratch that, I forgot psvimgtools is now a thing for creating the ARK bubble.

not sure what knida of emu the fuftre n64 emulator will be?

VitaShell is exclusive to HENkaku, so no. It can run N64 emus designed for PSP, like Daedalus, but it runs most games very slow...

Daedalus on my psp 2000 is awful, can't run anything, zelda's birthday hack only link's house, outside freeze

shame cause the n64 lib has some sweet games to retoplay.

i hope there's a future hack for 3.63 like FOOD or something and that the new n64 emulator can work on."hopefully" or "eventually".

Does VitaShell 1.51 support USB access to the installed PSVITA memory card on PSTV? I know it can't do external USB yet.
