How is it possible to rotate screen in FBA/MAME for some games. I tried to add a config-file to the rom-folder (romname.zip.cfg) with following entry:

video_allow_rotate = true
video_rotation = 3

but that doesn´t work.
Any Ideas how to fix this ?

Hi, i need a little advice .. First thanks for this work! i use retroarch on my NEW 3ds xl and my wii u. I have a dstwo flashcard and a gateway 3ds flashcard.. I use retroarch for : nes , snes , gb and gba.. I use the .cia version 1.4.1 stable is work pretty great on the games i have. ( i have a9lh with luma )

Would you recommend me to replacing my dstwo card by retroarch? if not why ?

Any recommendation?? Retroarch or dstwo ??

The good news is it's not flipped. The bad news is it's still rotated.

From what I've skimmed, the reason for vertical games being rotated is that a change in how the underlying MAME version itself handles those games, and currently the 3DS RetroArch doesn't support the rotation, which other system builds of newer MAME have to do.

If you use MAME 2000 (.37b5 romset I believe), vertical games should look fine (without having to hold your system at a 90 degree angle :P), since that was back when MAME would actually 'render' vertical stuff already-rotated, and that's before RetroArch spits it out.

...speaking of the MAME 2000 core: is there a way to access MAME's in-game menu? (TAB key in PC versions) The menu with control remapping, DIP switch/analog settings, etc...

I know you can hit the New3DS' ZR button in MAME 2003, but no amount of mashing different combos would bring it up in the 2000 core as far as I could find.

So, what's the point of Retro Launcher (cia) if it doesn't even work? Is there a proper way to set it up? CFW Luma3DS A9LH New 3DS
It works. It launches the last used core, so you can carry on playing where you left off. And maybe hide away all the cores in a folder.

If it doesn't work for you, something is wrong.

Does anybody have tremendous slowdown when using the XMB UI?

The FPS counter shows it drop from 60fps to anywhere between 10 and 2fps EVERY SINGLE TIME you move the cursor. This is insane - makes scrolling through the menu take so long its just not usable. If you hold the D-PAD or left analog stick in any direction, it slowly moves from one to another instead of quickly scrolling through - is this just me? Its a brand new install!

Interestingly enough I haven't seen anybody else mention that it seems to be a problem for them so I'm wondering if its just me or if everyone is just so used to the 3DS builds under-performing that they've got other things to complain about.

A *MASSIVE* shout-out to @MrHuu for posting .CIAs of all the cores and emulators not included. Keep it up! Thank you so much!

The only time I've seen anything like that is when I was scanning for collections.

I was hoping that this was just me. NOBODY has reported this issue.

It happens to me at all menus. N3DS. I wish there was something else I could try besides killing the .CFGs or RetroArch folder =/

I'm certainly not scanning, although when I tried to scan it, predictably so, did do what you're explaining.
