can you tell me exactly what a hardmod isLook like you may need a hardmod and that NANDmin.bin to recover.

Soldering you 3DS mainboard to writing your NAND (which contain system software) directly with your NAND Back up.can you tell me exactly what a hardmod is
i have a soldering iron but am skeptical about taking my 2ds apart is it my only chanceSoldering you 3DS mainboard to writing your NAND (which contain system software) directly with your NAND Back up.
Since you live in USA, @vb_encryption_vb should be the best man for this work.
Here a guide: [TUTORIAL] [Noob-Friendly] NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!i have a soldering iron but am skeptical about taking my 2ds apart
ok, i have some experience but might have to send it to this guyHere a guide: [TUTORIAL] [Noob-Friendly] NAND Dumping 2DS/3DS/3DS XL/N3DS/N3DS XL!
Only following if you know what're you doing, or give the work to a pro such as @vb_encryption_vb, he's reliable.

Well, except from the way to boot to Decrypt9, most of the step is exactly the same as the old way (Current > 9.2 > 2.1 way).I'm afraid I don't have any experience with the new, updated a9lh tutorial. I've gone through the original one twice and each time it took about six hours it might be best to ask someone to install a9lh for u. maybe the hard modder u choose in case something goes wrong again.
thank you! but do i have to pay him to fix my 2dsdon't do it if u feel hesitant. he'll receive a mention alert, so he'll see this thread. u might also try sending him a pm too to get a quote on the system. good luck with whatever u choose to do.
Yup, if i'm remember correctly, his price is around $70. Not sure that price will come with A9LH ready or not.thank you! but do i have to pay him to fix my 2ds

Most people here got bricked by user error, not the problem of the new method.

If you're not using slowhax, it shoudn't take that much time.I see. it's a long process or at least it was for me due to many NAND backups.

Not sure about this since I never use SoundHax itself.
But, the new guide only change how you're using 9.2 to instead boot SoundHax, which is an arm9 exploit, to going to 2.1 direclty.
Which more safer that the old way which require you to go 9.2 once for an open arm9 exploit.

You may have to ask him.
It's kind of amazing, because you can now take a proper NAND backup almost immediately with safehax before making any permanent changes to the 3DS, whereas before you had to do a dangerous (at least, it was at one point) 9.2 downgrade first or a system transfer for DSiWarehax.Soundhax is a homebrew entry point, nothing more, it's not an arm9 exploit, it's userland. Safehax is the arm9 exploit. I'd also like to mention, since the release of safehax there has been in an influx in bricks with nobody making NAND backups. The cause of the bricks, I don't know, but most have been during the 2.1 ctrtransfer. I'll let the trolls come in and blame, sd cards, user error, etc. I say it's shit happens. Hardmod is always superior to any software method, because we can make a proper NAND backup immediately.
$70?! A new 2DS would be around that on sale - an used one you can get for less. No point in paying to get it fixed. Either fix it yourself or buy a new one. If you're gonna buy a new one, you MIGHT AS WELL try to fix it yourself @xxturtlederpxx
good point i'm gonna try hardmodding today
