Nope. Only HID Devices like Keyboard, Mouse, PS3 controller etc.

I'm using it on the wii U though. You need a gamepad to get it to work right? what I mean is if I get another gamepad could I have two gamecube controllers working so I can use it for multiplayer games?

Hi, I tried connecting a PS4 Slim controller (CUH-ZTC2E). It has a different vid/pid from first edition DS4 so it doesn't work. I tried creating a config file with the new vid/pid and mapping DS4_* buttons, but it didn't work either (not sure what I expected). However, even when I run hid-test, the controller doesn't appear, so I can't grab data to create my own controller_config from scratch.

The controller itself works fine on Linux, registers itself like this

[20041.803667] input: Sony Interactive Entertainment Wireless Controller as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.3/0003:054C:09CC.0006/input/input30
[20041.803848] hid-generic 0003:054C:09CC.0006: input,hidraw5: USB HID v1.11 Gamepad [Sony Interactive Entertainment Wireless Controller] on usb-0000:00:14.0-4/input3

Any idea what to do now?

So we still use this, the "VPAD" to map "Plus" on the Pro controller to "Start" on the GC?
VPAD_BUTTON_PLUS = GC_BUTTON_START

I tried this already and this really works! But I've been wanting to Play Splatoon but my Gamepad is completely dead! My charger stopped working and I already ordered one. Can I play with the GameCube control while the Gamepad is Dead? Please tell me if there's a way! I really wanna play Satoon while I wait for my Charger!

Yes, you map it like a Gamepad. Since both have exactly the same buttons + button layout, it just gets translated 1:1
I could kiss you! Thanks a ton <3

Do you have a wiimote? You just need to use that to launch the homebrew channel and this, or even replace the homebrew channel WITH this I believe. Once you have it doing HID to Gamepad, you don't need a wiimote anymore. You might need to modify controls so it acts as the gamepad Y axis tilting.

You would have to rewrite the whole Gui to fit into loadiine.
And to be honest, I'm not really sure if its worth it.currently it's at the bottom of my todo list.
Maybe someone else wants to do it :D?

Hello @Maschell.
Since now RetroArch WiiU supports the Wii U Pro Controller, Could be a way/workaround to play these cores with HIDtoVPAD's patches?
I think that a potential solution could be a channel version of RetroLauncher since HIDtoVPAD runs in background into the HBL Channel/MiiMaker. Or perhaps a channel version of HIDtoVPAD (?
Thanks for your hard work :)

My Wii U crashes almost instantly (using the multi controller beta), on the system menu, or at the loading screen of a game.
I'm pretty sure I'm on 5.5.1E, using Mocha CFW via Haxchi, gamecube controller adapter and 4 controllers, stock (no) config.
The game I was trying to boot was Mario Kart 8.

If there is any debugging I can do I'll gladly try. Waiting eagerly for the stable 1.0 release!

MK8 doesn't work with Wii U Pro Controller setting. Try other games to see if they work with Wii U Pro controller setting.

It also crashed when I press apply patch and returned to the system menu and then not do anything.

For me, Mario Kart 8 did function correctly when at least one controller is mapped to a Wii U Pro Controller (I can actually play the game), but the problem with that is that when you get to the home menu and return to the game from it, the Wii U crashes. This is not a problem when a controller is mapped to Gamepad only.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U would not boot regardless of setting, though.

As expected, Splatoon works perfectly when mapped to gamepad.

I actually have more games to test, so when I get the chance, I'll either edit this post or make a new one with the results.

Hi I've seen some posts saying this doesn't work with Loadiine so I'm wondering if this works with RetroArch cores on Wii U since they don't load through Loadiine?

I managed to play Mario Kart with 2 gamecube controllers, when the patch is applied and you go back to the homebrew channel, it crashes the Wii U as well. Trine 2 also works with 2 players.

@Maschell You've probably been asked this a million times, but whatever happened to Xbox 360 controller support for HID to VPAD? Are there any plans for an update with these features, or is support being abandoned? The reason I'm asking is because I recall a video with Xbox 360 controller support, but with no updates. Any response would be appreciated, but if you can't, I fully understand. Thank you, regardless! :)
