Hacking WiiU Haxchi on a broken console.. Advise

A while back I had been given a WiiU that the vWii had been bricked (still accessible though) and tried my hardest to fix but with no luck (Thread about that is HERE). Now that Haxchi is out I pulled the WiiU out of storage and had hopes to fix it.

I read over the requirements for setting up Haxchi. I do not have one of the DS VC games in the requirements but I can buy that. My issue is I do not have my Nintendo account connected to this WiiU (never seen the need too until now) and since the vWii portion is bricked it will not update the console to 5.5.1 (Current version is 5.4.0).

What ideas would you recommend me take to get this WiiU back going?

*SIDE NOTE*

I have also tried Rednand install as well. I can get booted into homebrew launcher and run the installer but it just reboots the WiiU.

This *might* work.
Load ftpiiu_everywhere, copy everything from /slccmpt01 to a local folder.
Run ShowMiiWads and point it at that folder you just created. From there you should be able to install / remove titles, and then wipe /slccmpt01 and rewrite the new virtual nand over ftp.

* Edit: Reading over your other thread, I would start with just deleting the CIOSes and rewriting the virtual nand.

I have loaded up ftpiiu_everywhere but only get the SD card. I do not have haxchi installed and that would allow me /slccmpt01 access from what I have read

Haxchi or a cfw booter, would do it. Try booting that ~14MB fw.img that's been floating around on the forums.
* Edit and then run ftpiiu_everywhere.

yes, u have access to that partition with ftpii everywhere. that's how I changed my virtual wii's theme.

You can load Mocha CFW from the browser instead of using Haxchi.

You're probably stuck unless/until someone backports iosuhax to 5.4.0, and I don't think anyone is working on that. Most of the suggestions you got assume that you have 5.5.1, even though you specified 5.4.0.

Thank you for all your suggestions! I will test more tomorrow since my WiiU is at my desk at work. I figured I was stuck again since I never was able to update this WiiU since it had been given to me.

Ok been doing testing this morning and I can see the folder in FTP but when it I open it, I get this error. I tried loading the fw.img using mocha but it just reboots the WiiU probably due to it being on 5.4.0. The normal web browser kernel works to get me into homebrew so I got that going for me. I am going to try and compile a fw.img using IOSUHAX but from what I am reading it will only work 5.5.x but what do I have to loose lol

I will try any other suggestions if you guys have them. This has been a little project of mine for a while.

THANK YOU cmf2k1!!! You are awesome! YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!! I had my friend bring in the two games cmf2k1 listed and paper mario color worked!!! I read another pages tutorial (I would link it but lost it and it was in german) but it had me wipe all connections out of the wifi so no internet access then pop in the game and try to load it. It started the update and finished successfully! I then added my nintendo network ID and bought brain age and proceeded with the haxchi install... SUCCESS! I have haxchi fully installed

Thanks for posting your fix! Good to know that you found a way to update. So have you tried fixing vWii yet with WUPhax?

Well the update put fresh IOS's for the vWii part so I did the WUPHAX using hackmii installer and it worked gave me homebrew launcher in vWII so now I am adding IOS236 installer and cIOS which went smoothly! This WiiU is back in action!

Happy you got it to working. I'm still trying to fix vWii by replacing the IOS58 files on my 5.5.1 Wii U but no success so far even changing the mode on the files to 0x660 hasn't helped.

Anyone who is familiar with ftpiiueverywhere or wupclient/server managed to install a cIOS using this method or is it not possible? I'm think if I can't fix the IOS58 directly via ftp if I can get a working cIOS installed using this method can then fix the IOS58 via WAD installer

Thanks man! You could try this IOS236 cause it has NAND access. if you can somehow get it installed using FTPii EVERYWHERE
