I see many Chinese offering multi-boot OS of Windows 10 and Android. I have Windows 10 DVD, but I never seen Android OS offered. It would be nice to have my media PC with multi-OS to allow my kids to use Android OS for their stuff.

Is there any tutorials to doing this?

TIA!

Long past Google.. I saw Emulation and Bluestack. I also saw something about certain Intel chipsets too. I was asking about a true Multi boot, not emu. OR is it all emu (mini tv boxes)?

Thanks,

Well, i dont know for sure. But good luck.
I think windows work with a android hardware but android os dont work with media pc hardware, but i can be wrong. My thinking is about the ability of windows to handle drivers and recognize a variety of hardwares. Android is not so easy, you cant install drivers, you need to have a exact fw for the hardware.

Most of the Chinese tablets utilize Intel Atom chipsets, which were optimized for mobile use despite being x86 processors; this made it easy to run both provided that the manufacturers included Android drivers and made Windows drivers available.

Obviously it's harder to find a one-size-fits-all solution for general PC usage. You can try dual-booting Android x86 or Remix OS, but I'm not actively familiar with either and don't know how well they work, or how easy it is to install for dual-booting.

android-x86 is currently merging with remix os, which is currently competing with chrome OS. I'm not sure whether the latter one already supports running android apps or if that's still in planning, but it's certainly a future option.

It may have been my test setup (a pretty weird touchscreen interface PC), but I'd certainly try out the setup on an USB-stick before installing anything. About half a year ago, things weren't as easy as on ubuntu-distro's.

Its a Android emulator. Bluestack or something. Try google it.

No it's not. These tablets run Android x86 and Windows 8/10 in a dual boot configuration.

If you want to play with Android x86 without having to partition and install, you could try using a preconfigured VMWare Android x86 image in VM Workstation Player. There's also a paid option called AmiDuoOS which isn't terribly expensive.

The advantage of using a VM solution is that you can just run it on top of your main OS without having to reboot first. You possibly lose some hardware performance but, then again, I don't know how advanced Android-x86 driver support is - if it's not very extensive you may actually find that performance is better inside a VM than booting directly.
