Er, super stable 3D has nothing to do with this.

You'll need to do this regardless, new 3DS or old.
Except that on my N3DS the distance doesn't matter at all. (unless of course you're going to extremes) Whereas with my o3DS it matters immensely. In my opinion if your N3DS 3D is calibrated and you're still not getting a good effect then something is very wrong. You can't really hold it wrong tbh.

edit: Not with the games i've used it on at least. I just realized that maybe it's the game that's to blame.

The tracking is not perfect but it is great when it works, If you wear glasses it can glitch sometimes for a second and get back. The ghosting seems to be less as well but thats more because of the IPS screen but the tracking helps.
Okay, now i am curious to ask opinions of people who wear glasses, you play it with them off or on, and does it help anyway? Usually before playing anything i clean the screen and the camera lens (Cause i think how it works) but i do wonder since i wear glasses for majority of things and even when playing games if there is any difference.

If you hold the console (new 3DS especially, actually) too far or too close, the parallax barrier won't get to your individual eyes properly, causing ghosting or double images.

Super Stable 3D only shifts the barrier around on the y axis, so anything too close, too high, too low, or too far will still have problems like the old 3DS.

The screen being clean also helps, it causes ghosting since smudges kill the barrier's effects, and that particular area of the smudge won't appear in 3D.

Also keep in mind that if you hack your New 3DS you can get the performance improvements even with older games like Pokemon ORAS (and X/Y to a lesser extent) so it might be worth it for that. Not to mention vMac and Windows 9x capability.

I wear glasses and the super stable 3d works great for me, as long as I make sure the glasses are clean.

I always use my glasses because i can see a tiny bit more sharply with them, the sensor readjusts itself once in a while, can be annoying sometimes, i think it has more to do with low lighting and the reflexion of the glasses on to the sensor more than clean camera and glasses (which i always clean before playing).

Edit: Nintendo advises people who uses glasses to do so when playing in 3D anyway.

So this question is for anyone who has a New 3DS, and i am curious to know. With the New 3DS, it has a new function to improve 3D visual stability. According to the source, it takes advantage of the inner camera (Selfie cam) to track your head and eyes positioning to allow user to keep the visual represntation of 3D from all angle prespectives at all times.

I just wanna know, from your personal experience, has the new 3DS improved th 3D quality at all compared to before? Or maybe tell in your own opinion which 3DS system does the job best. :yay3ds:
Honestly, it's what the 3D should have been like all along. The difference is night and day. I used 3D with the o3DS, and it was always an annoyance. I couldn't really sit or lay down in a relaxed position, I had to be constantly focusing on keeping the console in the exact same position, so I couldn't really relax while playing. With super stable 3D, that has changed, the 3D is no longer an annoyance to use. It's close to perfect now.

I always played my o3DS and o3DS XL with the 3D on, despite the occasional challenge of maintaining the 3D effect. Some games were harder to do this with than others (Kid Icarus: Uprising, I'm looking at you...). I'm a sucker for the incremental upgrades but since I already liked the 3D effect, the N3DS (XL) was totally worth it for me. It's a huge, huge improvement.

Incredibly. To the point where I'll actually play games in 3D on my n3DS. The face-tracking makes all the difference.

i have a O3ds...
however i seen people saying it works wonderfully even on a totally dark place (next to the camera there is an infrared light that

btw, related question can't a person get blind (or at least irritate the eyes) with an infrared light shining to the eyes?
To answer that question, whenever you're outside, you have a giant infrared light shining in your eyes at all times, outputting more infrared radiation in a minute than literally any infrared bulb on Earth could produce in a year. Infrared and ultraviolet radiation are as safe as normal visible-spectrum light for your eyes, AFAIK; in fact, they're in some ways safer, because human eyes aren't designed to process light outside of the ROY G BIV spectrum, which means excessive amounts of those types is less likely to cause damage right away, unlike a bright flash of visible light.

Yeah i figured that the giant ball of fire outside also emits infrared, but I still had this question because we avoid looking directly at the sun.. However the light from the camera is pointed at your face like a Flashlight, it damages your eyes if you look directly to a flashlight for extended periods

It's not just the 3d, o3ds vs n3ds (normal size), the screens are bigger, the volume slider is better positioned, you got your extra triggers and c stick, performance is better including download speeds and the time it takes to install CIAs, the only downside is that you need to take off the backplate to get to the SD card which is now micro!

Staring directly at the sun or into the bulb of a flashlight is dangerous because it overstimulates the rods and cones in your eyes, IIRC. Infrared light doesn't stimulate rods or cones at all. I'm not going to say it's completely harmless, because I'm not an ophthalmologist, but AFAIK it's actually far less dangerous to your eyes than a flashlight or even a laser pointer.

Legally, I'm pretty sure Nintendo would be in very hot water if they sold a device which had any sort of provable connection to vision loss without any warning labels, aside from the fact that doing so would tarnish their reputation quicker than a penny left in the shower.
