extract your update (ce)
edit files you want.
target and edit the code.bin file (pppt)
rebuild the update (cr)
encrypt it.
install it

Hello, I was trying to make a custom update that adds custom music to the game, but it doesn't work. I've edited the code.bin to read from the new directory, but when I launch the game, the original music still plays. Can anyone help me out?

@Asia81 could you help this guy? Even I'm a bit out of it on how the aforementioned method isn't working. Maybe reupload v5 if it doesn't work or?

@Asia81 I have issues in rebuilding Pokémon neo y into the 1.5 update. When i use the pppt to patch the 0/1/2 garc, it says the file couldnt be found, maybe already used by the patch?
I think the problem could be into the code.bin file.
Any help please @Asia81?

0/1/2 should replace the original 0/1/2 under a dir. not the a0

the script itself work, the tutorial just need to be updated, but i posted another way, some message ago

I think most of us knew how to do the merge thing.
v5 using rsf or for some other reason, it creates a patch without destroy the version number.
eg. I use v5.3 CE to extract the official patch, and CR to rebuild it right away. but they have different version number(display on FBI)

let's say I have 0/1/2 under a from original patch.
the code.bin should point to the a/0/1/2 no matter what. (it's default pointing to the a/0/1/2. understand now?)
same reason as if you want to create a mod game, you only replace the existed files, not add aNum and modify code.bin

hey guys, I find out the way to remove the update pop out...

use below command to create the patch:

first run the v5.3 CR to rebuild. ignore the generated cia file.

then change the minor and micro version to the current newest official one, and run the command under the same directory. (set makerom to the envir or copy to the current working path)
below example is for Pokemon X v1.5:
MakeRom -f cia -content CustomPartition0.bin:0:0x00 -minor 7 -micro 0 -o patch.cia

if you don't know the version number, use fbi check the official update: 1.copy offcial patch cia to sd card 2. go to sd card move the cursor 3. find the patch and check the version number inside of the brackets.
above pokemon X v1.5 patch should display as (5.7.0)

  • -major <version> Any value between 0-63 (inclusive) Specify the version major for the title. This cannot be used with "-dver".
  • -minor <version> Any value between 0-63 (inclusive) Specify the version minor for the title. This cannot be used with "-dver".
  • -micro <version> Any value between 0-15 (inclusive) Specify the version micro for the title.

hope OP will add the version edit as optional arguments in the next version packhack
