that because they dont require signature checks so it would work anyhow.

my advice install the CIA of fbi and BBM to sysnand so it copies over when you make a new EMUnand
I am in the process of formatting EMUnand at the moment, will try and install when I have made a new one.

Not sure why you guys are telling him to install to sysNAND first. He should be using the .3ds installers as JDBye mentioned. He should also be unlinking his NAND's after creating the new emuNAND. Funky things can happen if you install CIA to sysNAND before formatting it, especially if he's already having trouble installing CIA's to begin with. This could cause corruption in sysNAND which is not a good thing.

well thats a first of hearing that because he doesnt format Sysnand Creating Emunand Formats SD, in which he backs up his files then copies them back after its Formatted. The CIAs are not even installed to Nand they are installed to SD.

So everything you said is literally invalid

Also the reason we are telling him to do it because as the thread has been Discussing his 3DS installers have all been failing

Yes, you will want to unlink if you are planning to install a lot of CIA as you will have the gift-wrap bug each time you launch emuNAND. Unlinking also helps you in determining if you are in sysNAND vs emuNAND mode. You can put a different theme in sysNAND vs emuNAND so you know which you are updating when a new update is released.

So everything you said is literally invalid

Unlinking NAND's requires a format of sysNAND. If you don't know GW perhaps you shouldn't be helping him at all.

Yes but the CIAs are not intalled to the NAND they are installed to the SD the only thing Unlinking Nands does will just delete the List of titles he had installed there is literally no Data being Touched CIA wise as the SD card is removed in the first place.

If you dont know how CFW works then you shouldnt be helping at all. Also there is a tool that will Unlink Nands without formatting in the first place https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-tinyformat.391635/

Btw Factory Reset doesnt Format Sysnand that would entail it entirely deleting the system, all it does is reset setting to Default (hence the name)

So like i said it wont corrupt anything mentioned because *IT ISNT TOUCHED*

That's not correct. TinyFormat does format the NAND. It just doesn't unlink the NNID.
well like i said by *Formatting* the nand it just resets to default etc title and import db no longer contain the info stating CIAs are installed to SD card.

Cant really corrupt files that are not touched

Ok, after it all. I was able to install one CIA, being Pokemon. After, all said invalid, including legit ones. I guess my SD is fake.

Everything Maximilious said in the post you responded to is correct.
The encryption for the emunand games will be corrupted, the system will be confused, and will wrap up the games in emunand. ALSO, if you go on Data Management on an unlinked sysnand, then ALL of your emunand games and apps will be deleted.
It's the encryption stuff.
