Yeah it does work but the only problem is the screen is mad, its split into 2 and is cocked to the side of the wiiu gamepad screen instead of the front but touchscreen does work OK with it!. I will have to take a picture of this. Sound and game works perfect but you need to sort of have 1 hand on the top joystick and use the other to sort of control the buttons in a mad sort of fashion epileptic fit as you go, its a tad difficult to control though!

You used BrainAge as the base, right?
That one only had that setting, so unless you have another DS VC like Mario Kart DS or NSMB you won't be able to change the setting.

you could probably get a copy of the config files from a different NDS VC game and use cafiine to load them
How would you get that config file without another VC DS game on the wiiu? it probably would work I cannot see why. Suppose someone could just pm me the correct file config, that would be good!

off someone else who has a game that uses different config files with more options :P
Yeah I just need some kind member to pm me the correct file from say MK64 or SM64 DS and then I'm good to go, anyone can sort me please. :)
@ShadowOne333. Yes I used VC DS Dr Kawashimas Brain Training as the base.

Edit:Yeah the correct config. file is inside the 0010 folder in cafiine so all I need to do is swap it for the right one and it should load it in the correct position on the screen, good thinking guys:)

Sorry for requesting again, but please, if anybody has a DS VC rom, please send me the ROM/xdeleta + official patches and config files etc.

This isn't for piracy :P. If I wanted to pirate, I would go to google.

Edit:
Or just post the differences in the ROM (or differences that official patches create) here, or to TCRF.

on a side note anyone looking for GBA roms in ram dumps, check out 0x34571100 not sure if it would differ between games, but for megaman battle network the rom is stored there,

Thing is that BrainAge didn't have the settings the new DS titles have, heck I even doubt it was the same emulator.
Hope you can get a settings file from a newer DS VC game so you can test it out.

Let me know what happens!
Good luck!

Thanks he has a good point, all this might just be a bit of luck on my behalf! Please though if anyone can help me out big time and has the correct config. file from say VC DS MK64 or SM64 or anything for that matter that they could extract for me out of cafiine, post it in this thread or if not PM me the file if you would be so kind enough, thanks :)

well its likely just a older build, looking through the N64 config files held lots of NDS settings too, so they likely just use the 1 configurable frontend similar to how retroarch works

PS does the brainage have the buildinfo.txt file? that would hold the build date for the NDS emulator you have

I will have a look got to run Gecko again to be sure I will be back.

Edit: GQ1. Inside the 0010 folder it has> configuration_cafe.json, rom.nds, rom.nds.cafe_hash, that's it, all that's in there. There is no buildinfo.txt file at all anywhere.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Does anyone know, do N64 roms work over VC DS games on the wiiu or is that just a stupid question?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What I mean is, can you get a N64 rom headed SM64.z64 and rename it to rom.nds and would that work?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I've had a thought I looked at Cafiine and when it loads the game it first loads up the configuration_cafe.json file so what I thought is, if you had the right .config files to each game I think you could load anyone you wanted over a VC DS or N64 title so for example if someone gave me the .config file to an N64 VC title of the wiiu I think you could use that with cafiine in the VC DS 0010 folder to load an N64 game over a VC DS title or visa versa! All I need is the .config files to a VC N64 game of the wiiu to test my idea out.

I'm about 99% sure that isn't possible. I don't think it's one emulator that can handle GBA/NES/SNES/N64/DS games... they are all separate emulators. Feel free to try though; wouldn't take more than 10 mins to have your answer.

He only has DK64 (N64 VC):
I cannot verify myself since I have no others vc than dk64 :(

Like I said previously, injecting a DS game over a n64 game won't work, since it is specifically made for one console.

Only the overlay is the same, since nintendo used it as a base for all their Virtual Console.

Can someone post the config of Mario Kart DS? I only have Dr. Kawasima and there is no VC settings screen.

I can switch the screen layout by pressing the right thumbstick. Maybe we can add all configurations and just switch to the right one in every game ^^

(@~0:33)

Edit: It's working :D I added a third layout. Only a quick test... I'll try to rebuild all screens of the video.
p8Pj9oE.jpg

Edit2: I added a lot of layouts. The layouts are always using the complete screen (except those rotated ones which I copy&pasted ^^), ninty uses borders...

Use this as your configuration_cafe.json (only tested with Dr. Kawashima as base):
Code:
{
  "configuration": {
    "layouts": {
      "layout": [
        {
          "__comment" : "TV & Pad: rotated",
                    "__description" : "Vertically-Held Nintendo DS Titles (Right-Handed)",
             "drc_rotation" : 0,
          "pad_rotation" : 90,
          "screen": [
            {
              "source": "upper",
              "target": "tv",

              "size": "522 696",

Can someone post the config of Mario Kart DS? I only have Dr. Kawasima and there is no VC settings screen.

I can switch the screen layout by pressing the right thumbstick. Maybe we can add all configurations and just switch to the right one in every game ^^

Edit: It's working :D I added a third layout. Only a quick test... I'll try to rebuild all screens of the video.

Edit2: I added a lot of layouts. The layouts are always using the complete screen (except those rotated ones which I copy&pasted ^^), ninty uses borders...

Use this as your configuration_cafe.json (only tested with Dr. Kawashima as base):
Code:

Press the right thumb stick to switch between layouts!

Thanks. I have Dr Brain training as well. Did you make the video? how did you get it like that with the config on the screen that would be way better.

No, I did not make that video. I only used that to rebuild the screen settings of the newer DS VC titles.
I have never seen a new configuration file, maybe we can activate the menu in Kawashima Brain Training!

I injected Mario Kart DS to test my configuration file. Works perfectly. The selected layout gets saved btw.

Brain age was like the experimental Ds emulator of course it might have less compat with injected titles rather than the new games or better becuase of not being too hardcoded who knows.
