Language Of Choice

Some threads were getting filled up with arguments about which language is better and why. This thread is made for said argument. Anyone may chip in here.

I think it's odd that you've put Javascript in there, since it's a totally different category (a scripting language, not a programming one like Java)

That's like saying "Which is better, a hammer or a saw?" Well it depends on what you want to do, doesn't it?

It's sort of like putting HTML in the options when it clearly doesn't belong

But ignoring that for a moment, I chose C++, though Java is a close second for me.

It depends on how you use JS. While it is mostly used in webpages, people do occasionally use it with other tools to create stand-alone applications (often mobile apps). Even though HTML and CSS are also used with said tools, all they do is display data.

I like Visual Basic .NET because it is really easy to learn. So easy in fact, that I could use it when I was 7.

Java because it's free, runs anywhere, has a great amount of libraries and IDEs.
