I have two N3DS on pre order but having second thoughts. Gateway issues aside how obsolete is the old 3DS? The new features are nice and all but my real concern is the exclusives. How fast will developers switch over?
Back in summer of 2012 one of my boys DS Lite crapped out and despite the saleman trying to talk me out of buying a DSi, I did. I knew if I got one of the boys a 3DS the other would throw a shit fit and would whine about it until he wore me down. (This one is very persistent, he will make a great lawyer or salesman). The other DS Lite crapped out the following summer and I bought a 3DS XL given that all the new games were exclusive to the 3DS. So now the DSi just sits there and is occasionaly used with an r4, but that is rare. They mostly share the 3DS, but not well and they can't do multiplayer.
They never use the 3D anymore. The camera is broken as well and that concerns me if there is a QR code exploit that emerges.
So I can spend $200 and buy one N3DS and have a small amount of whining. Buy two and they are both happy, or just buy a another 3DS XL and skip this generation, hopefully. The risk being if the 3DS craps out it will be expensive or impossible to buy an exploitable one.
Thoughts?
