The difference being that Nintendo is supporting the Wii U, while Sony is not supporting the Vita.
The only one supporting the Vita at this point is Microsoft with the decision to keep minecraft on the Vita.

Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest though, Microsoft is competing against Sony, but would Minecraft still go to the Vita now that it's an IP of Microsoft?

Why are we talking about the Vita again in the Wii U forum?

Well of course! I think there's a rule somewhere that, for every thread that has to do with the Wii U, it will somehow always lead to the Vita.

Yeah, I think it's been confirmed that all existing Minecraft ports wouldn't be affected. Besides, porting Minecraft to the Vita would just earn them more money.

for me, the artwork and the design is way more important than the graphics ... MK8, Pikmin 3, Zelda Wii U ... they are all gorgeous because they are not generic and have amazing design and artwork. I hate to see hi res games that all feel generic and there's a lot of those on next gen systems. I must admit that I was blown away by the TGS trailer of FFXV :P but the game has both.

Well the Wii U isn't really this generation so I guess not?

The Wii U is part of the eighth generation despite its hardware being lower than PS4/XO it doesn't invalidate it from the fact.

8th Gen:
PS4, XO, WU

7th Gen:
360, PS3, Wii

6th Gen:
DC, PS2, NGC, OX

5th Gen:
N64, PS1, Saturn

And so on.

I've experienced this now and it's made me reconsider getting another console next to my Wii U.

Today I bought Hyrule Warriors (limited edition with the scarf, which BTW is manufactured by KOEI TECMO) and it's just an awful experience. I really wish it was 60fps or at least a consistent 30fps. It lacks fluidity and is graphically very close to PS3 games.

Dragon Quest Heroes on PS4 looks so much better. Nintendo fans got the shorter end of the stick this time. :(

Oh wow another Dynasty Warriors rehashed game *sigh* Omega Force really doesn't give a fuck about innovating their games than from being overly repetitive shit.
Yet still the PS4 counterpart looks better than Hyrule Warriors. You'd think with the hundreds of rehashes they'd be able to bring out a graphically good game also on the Wii U. That's not the case.

Generations are referred or IDed by intervals of time, which is what a generation is, an interval, irrespective of the hardware. Console generations are typically five to six years on average, when a new console is released, that marks the beginning of a new generation. Hardware never defines a generation, the time frame it's out does. If weaker hardware someone disqualifies a console from being current gen, next gen, by that logic, the DS should have been labeled one gen behind the PSP and the PS2 should have been labeled gen behind the Xbox or Gamecube, as it was the weakest console in sixth gen.

Other people will incontrovertibly disagree with me on this, I expect it to happen. That being said, the word "generation" refers to time, not hardware.

Origin of word:
early 14c., "body of individuals born about the same period" (usually 30years), from Old French generacion (12c.) and directly from Latingenerationem (nominative generatio) "generating, generation," noun ofaction from past participle stem of generare "bring forth" (see genus ).Meanings "act or process of procreation," "process of being formed,""offspring of the same parent" are late 14c.

At least they bothered making the game look nice on PS4.

The thing with Hyrule Warriors is that HW is a quick cash-in to somehow content the Nintendo/Zelda fans until 2015.. Nintendo must think that we're gullible.

I own every current generation platform this gen.
A Wii U
An Xbox One
A Ps4
A PsVita
And A 3DS

Now I get the fact that people wanna go out of their way to defend the Wii U for all it's faults and purposes but lets face it. It's underpowered. There's no shame in admitting that. The Wii U underperforms vs it's competition. There's no need to blindly defend that fact if you like it so much. Just because it's underpowered doesn't mean it doesn't have the games you still want to play on it.

Take it from me, as someone who owns an Xbox one, I'm the brunt of every joke of owning a spyware shooty bang bang box. Do you see me leaping down everyone's throats to tell them "NO FUCK YOU YOURE WRONG MICROSOFT IS THE BEST AND YOURE JUST A HATER?" Lolno.

I acknowledge the fact that I own an undesired platform, but it still has the shit I wanna play. I'm one of the biggest Halo nerds out there, id do anything to play it like y'all would do to play Mario and Zelda. That doesn't mean anytime someone comments on a relatively true fact that I have to shit out hate as soon as possible on threads.

This November i have something coming out for every platform that I wanna play.
Smash bros Wii U
Little Big Planet 3 PS4
Halo Master Collection Xbox One
Tales of Hearts Vita
Pokemon Omega Ruby 3DS

There's something out there for everyone that they wanna play on their desired platform, and that's why you own a console. If your console is underpowered, fucking accept it and stop trying to commit seppuku to defend to fucking honor.

That's the kind of comment I love to see, that's precisely how a well-balanced and well, well thought out comment should be worded, at least, as far as I can see. I know what I've gotten myself into, that I have a weaker console, but I enjoy the games for it and look forward to Smash Bros, have Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, in essence, I own Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games, that, and I also have PS1 and PS2 games as well, because I enjoy those too ;)

It's the same reason I own a Xbox one. I fully acknowledge that multiplats perform better on PS4, I've seen t first hand demoing games I had played on the one and noticing the extreme Upscale in FPS and Graphical ability on Ps4. My xbox one is weaker but hell, it's my Halo Box basically now, and that's all I need it for.

When Guild repeatedly suggests that the Wii U was created during the 7th generation, you know he's trolling. So don't respond.

I would like to see a PC build that performs about as well as a PS4 for under $399. Last time I checked on Newegg, you have to spend at least $500 to jump over the threshold and Ars Technica agrees, although I can't be arsed to find the article in question. Remember that consoles benefit from short API's and suffer from less OS-related bottlenecks - a PC made out of equivalent components will perform worse, you need to spend extra to give the hardware some wiggle room.

The thing though is that if you do end up making a PC that performs as good as a PS4 for $500, you have, in reality, made something far more capable than a PS4 because that's just how a PC is. And, on another subject, if you do make it just for games, the benefit of having made a PC system with PS4 performance saves in the end as games are cheaper on PC. A bigger upfront cost, but savings in the end.

But all of this gen's systems were made in the 7th generation, just like last-gen systems were made in the generation prior. :P
