Console? The XBone is a PC in a shiny box. You mean PC wars? (XBone vs PS4 vs SteamBox vs DellPaqLeNewHeggenericPOvo?)

Console wars = Wii U, 3DS, Vita

Yep I guess that's about all of the consoles left isn't it? I don't think there are any real console wars left. N is winning there son. By a lot.

Please explain in detail how the XBone/PS4 are PC's. :)

XBone - 1.75Ghz AMD 8-core APU (853MHZ Radeon HD 7790 equiv graphics), 8GB RAM, 7.1 surround, SATA HD, HDMI video output, USB, Essentially a Windows 8 OS W/2012 Hyper V Hypervisor running side-by-side.
PS4 - 1.60GHZ AMD 8-core APU (Radeon HD 7870 equiv graphics), 8GB RAM, 7.1 surround, SATA HD,, HDMI video out, USB, custom OS

Other that the OS on the PS4, both of these have all the same specs as any half-way decent gaming PC. AMD APU CPU (with built in graphics), 8GB of RAM, 7.1 Sound, USB, SATA HD, HDMI output for video.

You can look at any motherboard from MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, etc that takes the latest AMD APU's and they will have the same specs. Doesn't it give you a hint that they are PC's when 75% of the games for both systems have come out for PC's as well as these supposed "consoles"? That's because it's a simple recompile away from being a PC game in both cases... Look at the specs for the handhelds and the Wii U. Far from a PC.

Riiiight... customized CPU's.. AMD has a lot of time to do that... So they swap out the MMU for Sony, big whoop. The CPU is not the issue here dude. It's the whole architecture. I know that you want to focus on one tiny part, that's your thing. Good luck with that. Why the switch to x86 from PPC? That's the Q. Oh, and don't try to school me on what a PC is. I owned one way before you were even a thought in your Mommas mind.

Okay, so by that logic, the:
  • The original Xbox is a Pentium-based PC with an NVidia GeForce 3.5
  • The Xbox 360 is a 2x PowerMac G5 combo
  • The Wii is also some variety of Mac, along with the Gamecube and the Wii U, since they're all based on PPC7xx and run ATi/AMD GPU's. Possibly a Power Macintosh G3, since it's running the PowerPC G3 AKA PPC7xx
  • The N64 is an SGI Indy
  • The NES is an Apple-II
  • The SNES is an Apple-IIGS
  • The Mega Drive is an Amiga 500
Except they're not.

Consoles and computers are not in two different pools of technology, they use the same technology, except in the case of consoles said technology is customized to serve gaming needs and squeeze out more performance by cutting the fat off of normally general-purpose components.

Neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One are "PC's" - PC stands for personal computer and neither system is that. They run on customized Jaguar-based CPU's, they have customized unified memory setups, customized GPU's and several built-in co-processors and dedicated ALU's that make them the consoles they are.

A console is a dedicated gaming system, a PC is a personal computer, that's all there is to it.

EDIT: Speaking of customized OS'es, the Xbox One is actually said to run a Windows kernel, a Blade derrivative (or Xbox Operating System, or however you'dlike to call it) and a Hypervisor-like service/OS that synchronises the two while the PS4 uses a modified version of FreeBSD, much like the PSVita, at least to my knowledge.

Lol, What warpath of domination?

The OP must be playing the same ps4 game over and over...since there are almost no new games worth playing since launch. Boy I love my Wiiu!

10 million sales in less a year? Yeah, dominating the fuck out of the Xbone and the poor little Wii U.
