I would look at resetting your router and trying once more to connect with the modded 3ds
I've done that several times now; changed DNS, IP address, forget and re configure the connection, changed all the router related parameters in the routers configuration. It is connecting to the internet, but only using the browser. While attempting to open Pokebank, for example, it crashes while trying to connect to the internet.

Are you able to provide a photo of what the crash is?

It appears you might have updated your 3ds without updating the custom firmware first. Put the SD card into your computer or phone, remove boot.firm from the SD card, then unzip it, and put the new boot.firm onto the root of your SD card
When I first got it, that was the case. I updated both and the console was functioning perfectly, running all games and connecting to the internet. The problems started when I installed Pokemon Ultra Moon and didn't run, uninstalled the game, redownloaded the .cia and reinstalled the game. It crashed and starting that point it crashes every single time an app/game tries to connect to the internet. I've re formatted the sd card, tested it, put in fresh firm files and the problem persists. I've also formatted the system and didn't work.

I finally fixed. Fortunately it had nothing to do with the wifi module. I inyected a new sistem image using CTRTransfer and it started working normally. Thank you very much for your help.

How would I go about changing my SD card for a bigger one?
For context I haven't updated my CFW in a long time as I'm still using whatever was the most popular at the time and I'm currently sitting at 11.2.0-35. I wouldn't consider updating at this point but my SD card is starting to have problems after all these years.

In a different note is there any way to know what the ID for any of the games I installed is? As I wanted to install a different one but it gave me problems which I assume was due to the ID already being used by any of the GBA backups I installed at some point.

Hello, I'm new to the 3DS community (and owning a 3DS in general) so apologies if this is a common issue:

I recently got a used 3DSXL from Japan. I managed to install the CFW without any issue but when I tried to do a region change I received the "Unable to mount ctrnand or load the ctrnand firm please use an external one" error.

I followed the 3DS Hacks Guide on region changing.

The only thing that I did wrong is that I didn't delete the sysnad files from the GM9/out folder.

I tried looking for threads with this issue and tried to fix things by running the CTRTransfer Type D9 script, but ran into an error there also (11.15.0-47u_ctrtransfer_n3ds.sha file is too small).

Luna works and Godmode works, but I can't boot into the Home menu.

As for my memory card, I'm using a brand new 32GB SDHC Micro SD card that I bought specifically for this 3DS.

What should I do in this situation? I have a sysnand backup, should I just restore everything and start over? Or is there still a way for me to change the region from this state?

After a long time I've restarted to tinker with some 3DS stuff, now is it safe to Install the hshop homebrew ?

Biggest thing is I want to play Monster Hunter XX with the translation patch but it doesn't seem to apply it or any of the other 4 links.

🤔

How to change the icon and software title of a .cia?

This is something I've done a few times in the past, but I've kind of lapsed on my 3DS modding knowledge. I was hoping somebody could tell me the go-to method for changing the icons, long and/or short titles, and publisher of a .cia file.

I am familiar with .cia en/decryption, HackingToolkit3/9DS, hex editing, and some forms of checksum calculation. Thanks to anyone who could point me where to go.

Edit: Never mind, the script does not work without answering yes. How am I seriously the only person that didn't immediately intuitively know what to answer to that question? Did I miss a section of the guide that said what lvl1 was for and that it would be needed in this section of the guide?

Following the default guide (script): Finalizing Setup > Section IV - Setup Script > Step 9. "..answering any questions that you are asked"

How do I know what the sane default answers should be for said questions? I'm being asked to unlock writing for SysNAND (lvl1) but do I need or want this?

I thought New 3DS XL only had a top IPS screen, but this guy below has a New 3DS XL with both IPS screens... How do you come across a N3DS XL with two IPS screens?

That said, I didn't find the picture quality better than the DSi XL, if anything, the DSi XL looks better for DS games.

It is possible to have dual IPS, I have a dual IPS N3DS XL.

Currently trying to play the Pokemon Prismatic Moon hack for Pokemon Ultra Moon, however, when I try, I get the error number 0xC8804497.

I'm guessing it might be the fact that I tried installing the required 1.2 via hShop. I deleted it from Downloadable Content and its prompting the update again (which is good I hope).

I WOULD just update normally, but I am on old firmware, and last time I tried to update the firmware I almost bricked it somehow so I get paranoid HAHA. I'm running Luma 9.0 and my 3DS is on Ver 11.4.0-37U.

I've been denying the prompted update for years because I don't want to mess anything up. But since it's preventing me from playing Prismatic Moon, it's time to be brave and actually update, I think.

In what order do I need to update? Luma first and then Firmware, or the other way around? What all do I need to do in order to update? I realize this probably makes me sound stupid but I genuinely would love a step-by-step hand hold just to calm my nerves! Even if its not that serious.

Thank you!

usually 3ds Pokemon rom hacks require you to be on 1.0 of the game with no updates attached, from what i know, in terms of the luma and system update thing this is also something i was confused about but i figured the logical solution would be to update luma first which is what i did and things turned out fine but if you really wanna be careful: backup your NAND beforehand
